I roll onto my back as I'm pulled from my sleep, a soft groan escaping my lips. "Go back to sleep." Vic's soft voice says. My eyes adjust to the dark room and I see his form in front of me, a hand reaching out to brush some hair out of my face. "What are you doing up?" I groan, rubbing my eyes.

"I got called in early." He explains, continuing to play with my hair softly. "Will you be coming home early then?" I ask hopefully, a sad smile coming to his face. "I'm sorry babe, three people just quit and we're really tight on staff."

I nod in understanding, closing my eyes and relaxing against his hand. His hand continues to stroke the side of my face. I can feel myself slipping back into sleep when Vic's lips press against my forehead.

"Don't leave." I whine, grabbing his wrist before he can stand. He sighs softly, pulling the blanket back and climbing into bed with me. "Wait no you've gotta go to work." I mumble, backtracking quickly. He chuckles softly. "You told me to stay, I'm gonna stay. Just sleep, okay?" Vic smiles against my hair, letting me cuddle into his chest.

"I love you." I mumble into his work shirt, his belt digging into my bare thigh. "Mhm, I know ya do." He teases, lightly kissing the top of my head. "My husband bullies me." I say, my words slurring together slightly because of my sleepiness.

We lay in silence, my smile slowly drooping as my whole body relaxes. "I love you too, Angel." Vic whispers, carding his fingers through my hair while his other hand runs up and down my back.

Soon enough I'm falling back asleep, clutching onto Vic tightly.

I jolt awake as the alarm clock on Vic's side blares loudly. "Shut up." I groan, covering my eyes. The clock says six, the alarm still blaring loudly. "Dad! Turn the alarm off! And get up! I have to be at school at seven!" Jackson's voice yells.

I roll over groaning. "But I don't wanna." I whine. Jackson pokes his head into my room, looking at me as I swaddle myself in blankets. He rolls his eyes, coming over and attempting to rip the blankets off of me.

"If I could drive-."

"Stop right there young man I am up and ready to go."

He smiles smugly, turning the alarm off and leaving the room. He always does that, brings up driving. He's able to get his license its just we don't have enough money for it. He'll just have to wait till he's eighteen.

I slump out of my warm, comfy bed, grabbing a pair of jeans out of the closet and pulling them on. "I'm getting the rest of the kids into the car!" Jackson calls out. "Thank you!" I call back, slipping on a plain shirt. "It's cold dad grab a sweater." Korin reminds me as she passes my room, already hopping down the stairs.

I'm a mess of a parent.

"Hurry dad!"

"I'm coming! Has anyone seen my black cardigan?!" I call down the stairs. "The one with the star on the tag?" Hope asks.

"Yeah, that one."

"It's on the table by the cereal!" Max calls up the stairs, hopping out the door after his twin brother, Mark.

"The cereal should be put away!" I groan, the kids already out the door. I grab my cardigan and slip it on, grabbing my car keys and rushing out the door.
