"Why does he look like that?"

"Daddy look! He looks like a fish!"

"Come on Hope, back off."

"Don't touch his face with your grubby little hands!"

"Daddy! Jackson said I have grubby little hands!"

"That just means he has grubby big hands... Right?"

I look over at the small crowd of kids around the babies car seat, a small sigh coming from me. "Okay, okay, away from him. Now!"

They all slowly back away, still watching the baby. "The only reason why he looks weird is cause he was born like three days ago." I explain, unbuckling him and lifting him into my arms carefully. His eyes are wide and completely unfocused, his face contorting before he begins to cry.

"Why are his eyes so big?" Hope asks, climbing up onto the couch and leaning against me to get a better look of the baby. "He just recently opened his eyes, so they're brand new. Like when you get a new toy. Because they're new, they aren't used to the light like we are. Also when you put your little head in front of him he can't see you because he can't focus. His little eyeballs are still developing." I explain, the kids nodding.

"My eyeballs are all devloped, because I'm big." Jason says proudly, completely butchering the word 'developed'. "I'm big too!" Lauren exclaims. "I'm older than you, I'm bigger." Jason says, smiling smugly.

"Actually Lauren was born first."

A look of horror passes over Jason's face as the words leave my mouth. Lauren jumping and squealing. "I'm big! I'm big! I'm big!" She cheers, Jason crossing his arms and marching out of the room.

I roll my eyes at them, smiling down at Timothy. The door handle jiggles a bit and all the kids look, screaming. "Daddy!"

All the younger ones run to the door, Jackson's eyes widening as he scurries up the stairs. "Uh, uh young man. Don't you dare go to your room." Vic's voice booms, Jackson groaning as he steps back onto the stairs.

I give them a curious look, Vic leaning down to give each of the kids hugs and kisses. "Run along now, I'm gonna make dinner." I say, the kids nodding and running up the stairs.

"He's screwed." Max chuckles to Mark, the two boys watching as Vic takes off his work coat, placing it in the closet and turning to Jackson. "You two, out." I say, pointing to the stairs. "But dad I wanna watch." Mark whines, Max laughing and slapping his arm.

I give them an unimpressed look, the boys groaning before they march up the stairs to their room. "So, Kellin, did you know that I got a call from the school today?" Vic asks, coming into the living room with Jackson following.

"Really?"

"Mhm, guess what happened."

Jackson looks down at his hands guiltily, avoiding eye contact. "What happened?" I ask, directing it towards Jackson. "Why don't you tell your father what happened today." Vic coaxes, sitting down on the couch.

"I-uh... I got in a... Argument"

I sigh softly, turning to Vic and handing him the baby. Vic smiles at the newborn, pressing a small kiss to his forehead.

"Are you okay?" I ask softly, walking up to Jackson. I look at his hands, softly bringing them into mine. "Oh babe." I sigh softly, noticing the small tears welling in his eyes. I close my eyes softly, pulling him into a hug.

"I love you so much, okay? I wanna know why you're so upset." I say softly, pulling away and looking into his eyes. He nods softly, following me to the couch. I sit next to Vic, leaning my back against him as Jackson sits in front of me.
