Avoiding and KID

Shinichi avoided being at KID's heists altogether for 4 months now even though he was personally invited by KID himself when KID sent his heist notes on top of his desk at the Kudo Library.

He even avoided Saguru! Much to the blonde's own annoyance. He avoided going out with Ran and Sonoko too. Huddle himself inside his house's library, drowning himself with books so that he wouldn't think about a certain white clad thief under the moonlight with beautiful indigo eyes.

He rarely spend time with the Shounen Tantei too. The kids are worried about him especially Ai. She knew something is wrong with the detective but she wasn't sure what.

He even spaced out in school from Ran's perspective. Got himself into detention every once in a while. Ran is very worried regarding her bestfriend. He locked himself behind the walls that he built and pushed everyone away from him.

Shinichi is currently gazing longingly at the phantom thief's monocle in his hand. He still remember the day KID was shot at the Emperial Easter Egg heist... he was very worried for the thief when his monocle fell along with a bird. Tama-chan, he thinks the name of the bird was.

Sometimes he missed being Conan. Life as Conan was easy then but Shinichi won't ever exchange this for anyone else.

When he got back... his whole life turned upside down. He eventually have to let Ran go. He couldn't bear to make her wait any longer. Shinichi had explained to her the whole thing that happened. From the very start. Ran broke it up with mutual agreement saying that her love for Shinichi had turned into a brotherly love instead.

His reasons of returning... had took a new turn when he no longer reach out for Ran but to KID instead.

He had been blinded. Blinded by the lies surrounded him. He had refused to acknowledge KID when he first make an appearance in Shinichi's life. But now... when he did reach out, it seems like the hand had retracted back to its' owner.

Shinichi clenched the monocle in his hand tightly in his fist. His body tremble but he refused to cry. He would not cry- dammit!

Shinichi curled himself deeper into his favourite chair and sobbed. He thought that maybe when he came back, something good would happen. Something good will turn itself up in Shinichi's life. But he was wrong.

He was wrong.

So this is what it feels to be rejected. This is what it feels to be turned down. It hurts. A lot. Shinichi gasped as his body rocketed into fresh pain.

He felt like drowning. Like he was desperately in need for air. Mental pain clouded his brain. Tears roll and roll from his eyes nonstopping.

He curled into himself even tighter, burying his face into his knees. His body shuddered as he gasped for breath.

Suddenly, he felt arms embracing his body into a hug. He immediately tensed and fight off panickly.

"Hey- hey! Tantei-kun!" Shinichi immediately stopped. He was afraid to look up. He was afraid to find out the owner of the voice.

He knew who that is. He knew it very well whom that voice belongs to. None other than-

"KID." Shinichi whispered. "What are you doing here?" he closed his eyes, terrified to look up into the dazzling bright indigo eyes when he felt the gloved fingers curled to his chin and raise his head to look up.
