"Shinichi-niichan!" Ayumi yelled as they stepped in the room. She hugged Shinichi, who's laying down on the bed, staring at the ceiling blankly, looking slightly paler than usual.

"Hi, Ayumi. Hey, Mitsuhiko, Genta. Haibara." he said softly, nodding his head.

Shinichi then hugged back tightly, kissing the top of Ayumi's head affectionately.

"Are you okay now, nii-chan?" Mitsuhiko asked worriedly. Shinichi sent them a small tired smile. "I'm fine," he croaked out. "The doctor said I can go home if my head is feeling better." he added.

"Hi, Hakuba-kun." he greeted when he noticed the neon pink colored hair male. His eyes fleeted to his two companions.

Ai noticed how Shinichi's eyes linger on the wild haired a little longer than necessary before returning back to Saguru.

"I see you brought your bestfriends." Shinichi teased while smiling slightly. Tired and worn out. "Nakamori-chan... Umm... Kuroba-kun..." he nodded his head as a greeting.

"Hi, Kudo-kun." 'Nakamori-chan' greeted back. "Hi." 'Kuroba-kun' greeted quitely.

Shinichi gave them a lopsided smile. "What are you three doing in Beika? I thought you have something to do at the Ekoda police station before hanging out with your friends?" Shinichi cocked his head to the side, eyes wide like a curious puppy.

Ai smiled a bit.

Saguru grinned wryly. "Your kids came all the way to Ekoda just to find me and asked a favor for me to search for KID." he said.

Shinichi froze in shocked and frowning disappointedly at the 4 kids. "You went from Beika all the way to Ekoda by train without a grownup? I thought I taught you that it's dangerous for kids to go anywhere without parental guidance? What if something happens to you? Haibara," he turned to look at the blonde girl.

He groaned in annoyance. "Do you know how much trouble it will cause me if something happens to them? I swore one day I'll die because of you guys. It's a good thing nothing happened to you while you went to Ekoda. What were you thinking?" he groaned again.

Ayumi looked like she was about to cry. Mitsuhiko and Genta looked away guiltily. Ai looked down in guilt. Shinichi looked so tired as he ranted out.

"Sorry, Kudo-kun." Ai mumbled. "We're really sorry, Shinichi-niichan. We were just searching for KID. You were hurt because of him. Both emotionally and physically." Ayumi insisted.

Shinichi's body went stiff. "What makes you think going to Ekoda is going to help you find him when you don't even know what he looks like moreover who he is. And what makes you think he hurt me?" he asked, skeptically.

"Your window was open, Kudo-kun. Your library window was opened. You and I both know that you don't really open any window of your house much less your library window." Ai said.

"What's wrong with you, Kudo-kun? You weren't exactly acting  this when you and Mouri-san stopped being a couple months ago. Even when you called me feeling all sad about your break up, you didn't stop hanging out with anyone. You were the opposite. You tried to forget the sadness of losing your first love by hanging out even more frequently with people. You weren't acting like this, Kudo-kun." Ai pointedly said.
