Kiara's Choice.(Formerly CALM)

Chapter 5

* Kiara's POV *
              Something stirred beside me on my bed, my eyes fluttered open and I came face with my blue eyed, black and white husky "Good morning, Keeka." I ran my fingers through her fur as I spoke and Keeka barked in response. I rolled out of my bed and picked her up with me. After the usual morning routine and rummaging through my walk-in closet for something to wear, I finally got to cleaning the rest of the house with the rest of the girls, who had slept over, and of course no help from Kuda.
          "Good morning guys." He stumbled down the stairs and out the door for his usual morning jog, I would have gone too but the house was in desperate need of attention. "The house is a catastrophe!" Tara exclaimed to Natasha
"I know T, I think we all know." Natasha rolled her eyes as she spoke making Simone giggle. "Does anybody know where my phone is?" Brooklyn came into the room looking annoyed at basically everything, I picked her phone off the kitchen counter top where it had been plugged into one of the sockets,
"It was dead when I found it this morning." I said handing the small device to her
"Kiki you're a lifesaver." She said hugging me.
            By the time we had gotten the house back in order we were all starving so we fixed ourselves a breakfast of french toast and waffles but of course Brooklyn went overboard with syrup and butter, "That's just not healthy." Simone said eying Brooklyn's plate, "Mind your business." Brooklyn snapped at her shoving a fork load of waffles into her mouth. Kuda walked in yelling into his phone "Then get him under control, you can't just expect me to get there in five seconds." He stopped beside me and stole my plate from me and for some reason it took me a few seconds to react "Wait, my food, boy if you want to see tomorrow hand my plate back to me." I ordered him as he got off the phone
"What were you yelling about anyway?" I asked retrieving my plate from his grasp "Damien got loose at the ranch again." He sighed
"Yay, I wanna go see Damien, take me to see Damien, I wanna go see Damien." I squealed jumping up and down
"I'll take you if you make me breakfast." He looked down at me with pleading eyes
"You have to take me anyway, but I'll do it." I hugged him and spun on my heel back to the table "Girls we're going to the ranch." I said bouncing on my seat "Wait we can't go now the guys are coming over today." Tara said from across the table "Why do y'all keep inviting them to my house without telling me, I mean don't they have other things to do since they're so famous?" I asked looking around at them air quoting the word famous
"Nope, apparently they're on vacation this summer." Natasha answered beside me
"Celebrities have summer vacation, isn't that when they're supposed to have all their concerts and tours?" I asked again earning exasperated looks from everyone "Alright I won't ask anymore questions," I threw my hands up in surrender "but when are they supposed to get here?" The doorbell went off answering my latest enquiry I got up from my seat and headed for the door and returned with the four Australian boys behind me "Good morning." They said
"It's past twelve." Brooklyn said shaking her head with a smile on her face
"Well if it isn't Captain Buzz-kill," Luke spat "you know normal people would just say Hi or Good morning back."
"Yeah, well I'm special, not normal so just back off." Brooklyn retorted
"Guys not today, please not today, don't kill my happiness today." I begged them both stepping between them "Why are you so happy today?" I turned to look at Ashton who was currently eating a slice of toast he had stolen from Tara's plate "I'm going to Kuda's ranch to see Damien." I squealed for maybe the tenth time "Who?" Their faces mirrored my expression the day I met them; pure confusion but from Luke and Calum it was more than confusion, it was jealousy, anger and other emotions "Damien." I repeated "Don't worry you'll love him, he's amazing." I ran up the stairs to put a grey hoodie over my white tee and came back down with my car keys and hand bag "Kiki, shoes." Kuda pointed at my bare feet "Oh, right." I ran back up with the girls behind me, after finding a pair of flat black ankle boots and power bank for my phone I went down again.
       I threw my keys at Kuda who caught them in time, we had to take my car because his couldn't take all of us but I made sure he drove. I was out the door before Kuda even parked the car. I ran through the gates to the main office where I was stopped because the receptionist and the security guards didn't recognise me.
          Everyone came in a few minutes later in the middle of me interrogating one of the guards "Let her go Bryan, that's my twin sister." Once Kuda spoke, the guard identified as Bryan stepped aside for us to go, I picked up where I left off and ran to the stables where a stable hand was cleaning an empty stall "Hey Kyle, where's Damien?" I asked panting "Well hello Miss Kiara, Damien got loose this morning and the other stable hands are trying to catch him, he's out on the field right now." He replied I headed for the door but was stopped by the girls "Kiki, cool it." Simone held me by the shoulders, I took a breath to calm myself down but I caught sight of a dark mane zooming by over her shoulder and I bolted again, out the stables I went into the enormous field where another stable hand was trying to catch my stubborn black horse "Leave him alone!" I ordered and watched as the employee dropped his arms, running into the path of the animal I grabbed his reigns and successfully calmed him down.  I rode him back to where the others were standing and got off  "Boys meet Damien." I smiled patting the animal beside me.
           
*Luke's POV *
            Realisation dawned on me when Kiara introduced us to Damien "He's a horse." I said thinking out loud "No genius, he's an overgrown chinchilla." I sent a glare in Brooklyn's direction "You know chinchillas are grey right?" I turned to look at her "Yeah, so?" She asked putting her hands on her hips "He's black you dimwit." I said matter-of-factly she just rolled her eyes in response instead of firing back a half witted answer like she usually would "Are they always like this?" I looked away from her to see Kiara's brother staring at us "Yes, yes they are." Simone answered shaking her head.
        "C'mon you have to try and ride one." Kiara had been trying and failing to get me to ride one of the horses "Not even if I was paid to do it." I replied
"And why not?"
"I don't like horses!" I declared, she stopped in her tracks looking puzzled at my statement
"What kind of person doesn't like horses?" She looked so confused, it was just adorable
"My kind of person." I replied yet again
"You know what, I'm going to make sure you ride one before leaving today." With that she grabbed my upper arm and led me to a chestnut mare in the stall beside Damien's, she unlocked the door and led the creature out of the stables.
         Maybe I am a horse person after all, because less than ten minutes after Kiara got me on the horse I refused to get off  "You realise that they have to feed them at some point, right and they can't eat while they're being ridden so I think you should dismount the horse now." She said practically yanking me off the animal, luckily I landed on my feet, more or less anyway. Once she secured the other horse back into it's stall she turned her attention back to Damien "How's my favourite horse?" She cooed while stroking his head, and the animal responded with a small grunt "You know he's flirting with you, right?" I said to her "Really, how do you know that?" She looked at me with interest in her eyes
"I just do."
"So you went from I don't like horses to I'm a horse whisperer after one horse ride?" She looked amused
"No, it's a guy thing, when there's a pretty girl around and one guy senses competition, he's gonna try to retain the girls attention."
"You're so gorgeous." She cooed again to the animal
"And he's succeeding." I groaned, she threw her head back and laughed extremely hard before calming down again and looking at me "You better stop, you could kill me like that." She smiled and I mirrored her expression, "Kyle," She whipped her head around to look at the stable hand "could you please get us apples for Damien?" Kyle got up and walked to the far end of the stable and returned with four green apples "Thank you." She plucked the fruits from his hands and handed two to me "Give him one." Came her command "He's going to bite my finger off."
"No he won't, you're just being paranoid." She rolled her eyes as she spoke
"No, I'm not, he's my competition here, he's going to bite me." I repeated, I watched her pull the stalk from one of the apples she was holding and feed it to Damien, "He didn't bite me, so he's not gonna bite you." I considered telling her that the reason she wasn't bitten was probably because Damien actually liked her and from what I had gathered he didn't like anyone else but I decided to shut my mouth, she took my hand in hers and raised it to his lips, I squeezed my eyes shut as he opened his mouth but much to my surprise I didn't feel his teeth clamp down on my fingers, instead I felt his soft velvety lips take the fruit from my hand. Once I opened my eyes the first thing I saw was Kiara's contagious smile "Okay so I guess Damien isn't so bad." I said giving up.

*Natasha's POV *
           Michael and I walked in on Kiara teaching Luke how to feed the horses and I could tell we were both thinking the same thing "They are perfect for each other." I whispered to him and he nodded in agreement "He'd better ask her out soon." He said
"And she'd better say yes." I replied "Hey, guys." Michael bellowed making Kiara jump and drop the apple in her hands "Sorry Kiki." I said between giggles "What are you two doing here?" She asked bending over to retrieve the fallen apple, "Oh, your brother says we have to leave now because it's getting late." Michael said pointing towards the exit, Kiara turned to her horse and stroked him once more "Bye Damien." She said and walked out of the stables.

* Brooklyn's POV *
           That boy was just getting more annoying by the day, how does everyone else bear him? Come on it can't just be me he's annoying. We piled back into the car and once again I was stuck next to prick almighty, how does this keep happening? "Kiki, can I use your power bank, my phone's almost dead." I asked retrieving my phone from the pocket of my jacket "She hasn't even said yes and you're already taking out your phone." I snapped my head to the side to glare at the blond idiot who had spoken "Why exactly does that bother you?" I asked, even I could hear the poison in my voice,
"Because, you don't know if she's going to give you the power bank or not, I mean what would you have done if she didn't bring it?"
"I would have used the car charger for it but, I'm not riding shotgun, instead I'm stuck next to an abhorrent fool." I snarled
"Oh please, you know one big word and you suddenly think the world should revolve around you." He scoffed
"No sweetie, not just one big word, because when you're friends with a dictionary slash thesaurus like Kiki, you pick up a few things, and did anyone hear me say that the world should revolve around me?" I looked around the interior of the car which had gone silent "See, nobody, so I strongly suggest that you shut that hole in the middle of your face and avoid embarrassing yourself any further." I spat "When did I become a dictionary slash thesaurus?" Kiara had been holding the power bank out for me and I didn't even notice "The day you were born chica." I replied collecting the small red device and suddenly breaking into a smile, how does she do that, was she even trying? "Oh, so you speak Spanish now?" My smile dropped and yet again I turned to face the bane of my existence "Dude, one of my best friends is Spanish," I pointed to Kiara "two actually," I pointed with my other hand to Natasha "I picked up the basic stuff from Nat and Kiki." I said surprising everyone, including myself, by not insulting him and he surprised everyone but shutting his mouth "You realise that I'm Spanish too right?" Kuda asked from his position in the driver's seat "Yup, that makes it three Spanish people in my life and one idiot." I declared poking Luke in the chest, "At least I have a brain in my head." He scoffed, my blood boiled over and I'd finally had enough. "Luke, shut the bloody hell up."I growled.They could all  tell I was pissed, "Brooklyn just calm down,Don't do this now" Kiara pleaded.
       The rest of the car ride was taken in awkward silence and when we finally dropped the boys at their house I was only too happy to say goodbye to them.

* Calum's POV *
         "Did anybody else see the sparks flying between Luke and Kiara today?" Michael asked making my head snap in his direction, "What are you talking about Mikey, if you had seen Calum and Kiara yesterday you would know what sparks are." Ashton said, Luke and I looked at each other "You like Kiara?" I asked, he nodded in reply "And you like her too?" He asked and I copied his previous action, we were silent for a few minutes but it felt like forever until Luke broke the tranquillity "Well, that's okay because now that you know that I like her, you're going to back off." He smiled relaxing into the sofa,  "Why would you think that?" I asked sending my right eyebrow skywards
"Because that's what a good friend would do."
"So why can't you be the good friend?" I asked
"Look Cal, this is getting us nowhere, why don't we let Kiara make the decision?"
"Fine." I said to him
"May the best man win." He drawled
"This isn't a competition Luke." I stated even though I didn't fully believe it myself.
