Beep, beep, beep, beep.
"Are you kidding me?!" Hazel groaned into her beer.
Pager's were going off everywhere and the sat up.
Con glanced at hers, "We just got off our shift." She groaned, her head laying on the bar.
"911 at the hospital." Danny said to them.
Danny and Mercy grabbed jackets.
"Hey, someone turn up the tv!" Joel was watching the small tv in the corner of the pub.
'-a large explosion has occurred in phoenix late this evening, followed by a visible mushroom cloud. We have confirmed reports right now that high levels of radiation have been detected in the area. The destruction of course appears to be quite extensive.' A news reporter was saying into a mic.
"Think this is it?" Mercy nodded at the tv, but she was shushed.
'We have unconfirmed reports. And I do emphasize unconfirmed at this time that this may be some type of nuclear device, just based on the magnitude of the explosion itself. The windows at our station of course are blown out. Visible fires are raging in the buildings that are left standing in the area. Again, this information coming in I'm passing it along to you as soon as we get it. But it is confirmed radiation on the scene has been detected-'
Their pagers went off again and they grabbed bags and jackets, all grumbling about how they had just finished working and that they were off-duty.
They each arrived in cars back at the hospital, which they had just left.
"Mass casualties," Goodwin yelled at them when she saw them, "Here!" She threw trauma gowns at Con, Hazel, and Joel, who started tying each others.
Bobbie appeared, tousled hair and groggy.
Mercy and Danny grabbed trauma gowns, putting them on.
"Traumas?" Darren walked in with Ian, sighing.
"Mm hm." Goodwin glanced at them.
They opened the door into the ER and noise burst forth onto them.
The ER was hectic on a normal day but...it was insane.
Gurneys were flying around, blood was everywhere.
"They're gonna need as many hands as they can get," Goodwin yelled over the noise to Con, Hazel and Joel, "Spread out and make yourself useful. And..don't kill anyone."
"This is beyond amazing." Hazel stared around at the gurneys filled with people.
"Uh, I feel like a kid on christmas!" Con gaped.
"I need someone over here Goodwin!" Danny yelled from where she had a woman on a gurney.
"Carter." Goodwin pointed and Hazel laughed evilly at Con and Joel and then ran over.
A man was screaming, something about radiation.
"Someone help me!" He was screaming, "I'm covered in radiation!"
"Sir, calm down! We need you to calm down for us to help-" Ian yelled at him, "Goodwin i need hands!"
"Oh. Please." Con stared at Goodwin pleadingly, willing her to give her the case, "Please."
"Fine, Miller, go!"
Miller fist pumped and ran over to Ian.
"What about me?" Joel asked Goodwin.
