meeting
(Y/N) pushed the glass door to the daycare, hoping that it was the right one as it's the first time she'd had to pick her brother up from this one. It was stiff, presumably because of the cold, so she gave it another shove. It didn't budge. She tried again. This was getting embarrassing,
"Hey," a soft voice called from behind her, making her jump and turn around, "it's a pull door." the boy tapped on the sticker that read PULL on the glass door,
"Oh my gosh!" the girl exclaimed, "I'm so stupid, thank you! I probably would have been stuck out here forever!" A little chuckle came from behind her as she pulled the door open,
"You're welcome," the boy said, following her into the warm daycare, "and I'm sure your not stupid. It could happen to anyone," he headed to one of the doors,
"Hey," (Y/N) called out for his attention and he spun around, his silver hair -wasn't he too young to have silver hair?- glistening in the soft light, "um... Where do I...?" She trailed off, aimlessly motioning around her. The boy chuckled again, a soft, low chuckle with a smile that made his cheeks glow,
"It's just through those doors and to the right," he directed, pointing at another pair of glass doors ahead of them,
"Thanks again," she headed off down the corridor, before hearing a,
"They're pull too," he called after her, she laughed but by the time she turned around to thank him he was gone, a door swinging in his wake.

She found the right room pretty fast and talked to another kind daycare worker -whose name tag read 'Yachi' - that directed her to the right section of the daycare.
She found where her brother was, sat on the floor, drinking out of an empty milk carton and balling his eyes out,
"He's been like this the whole time," Yachi said a bit sadly, "even milk wouldn't calm him down, like it said on his sheet,"
"Yeah, I'm sorry," (Y/N) smiled knowingly at the girl," he gets like this sometimes, you have to know how to calm him, he's difficult,"
She swung the black haired boy up in her arms and cooed at him, rocking him back and forth and bouncing him slightly,
"Come on, kags," she hushed, "shh, shh, sleepy time,"
It took a few minutes but he eventually fell to sleep in her arms, head lolling on her shoulder,
"Waah," Yachi looked shocked, but kept her voice hushed, "that was amazing!"
(Y/N) chuckled and blushed slightly,"It was nothing, I just know how to calm him," Yachi nodded in understanding before speaking again,
"If you don't mind me asking," she seemed reluctant, "aren't you a little young to be a mother?"
"Oh," (Y/N) laughed slightly again,"I'm not his mother, I'm his sister,"
"Oops, I'm sorry for assuming! It's just you're so good with him and..." She was getting more and more flustered until
(Y/N) interrupted,"It's really okay," she reassured the girl, "I get that a lot, it doesn't bother me. In fact, it's nicer you asked rather than assuming things," Yachi let out a relived sigh and
(Y/N) smiled at her before glancing at her watch,"I've got to go," she spoke hushed, heading for the door, "I'll be back at half seven to drop him off tomorrow, goodbye,"
a/n a longer chapter as I really like writing this story. enjoy!
