After dropping her off, he hurries back home, random yet specific ideas fresh in his head. He knew how to finish her song, and the words he was going to put to the sound his fingers coaxed out.

When he enters the house, he immediately scribbles down the lyrics.

He smiles at the first line. He started composing the song with his guitar. He switched it to piano when he remembered she preferred that instrument.

He writes how he wants to see her smile, genuinely. How he felt guilty for not being able to tell her in words how much he loved her. How although he sometimes didn't understand her, he was grateful for her. And he never wanted to be without her.

He stays up through the night finishing it and mastering the lyrics and chords. When he feels confident enough, he texts her.
