She is released from the hospital a few days later. He is there to pick her up and drive her home. She looked more drained than usual, something he didn't know was possible.

The car ride is awkwardly silent. She is fiddling with the hem of her shirt. He finally clears his throat, grabbing her attention.

"Do you want to grab takeout Chinese?" he asks.

"No thank you," she replies quietly.

"Do you want to... Drop by my house and watch a movie?"

She perks up a bit.

"Piano afterward?"

He smiles brightly.

"Of course!"

She bites her lip and nods. He hands her his phone.

"Better tell your parents then."
