Going Rogue- Jyn X Cassian

Turning Into Stardust

Jyn winced as she heard K-2SO's last words, the blaster fire partially obscuring it. Cassian looked completely crushed. One of the only things that kept him going was his reprogrammed friend.

Jyn placed a hand on Cassian's shoulder. Andor couldn't meet her eyes. He was devastated.

"Cassian..."

"Right. We have a mission to do."

He wiped his face with the sleeve of his stolen Imperial uniform, tears saved for later. Right now, he had to find code Stardust.

Andorgot up off the cold metal floor. He had to find Jyn- Director Krennic was after her. Hecrawled up, cradling his blaster wounds. He stepped on one leg of the ladder-and the next- and the next. He just had to see Jyn again. Cassian was determined not to die without the rogue sergeant. Everything and everyone was either dead or destroyed- heand Jyn were the rebels' only hope. The rebellion at large wasn't the only thing motivating him, though. 

Finally, the rungs stopped. He unholstered the blaster. The director in the white cape had his back turned to Cassian. Jyn's eyes widened, but Krennic was down before she could say anything. Suddenly, a large gray orb appeared in the sky- the Death Star. Jyn and Cassian transmitted the plans to the Fleet, but Cassian knew in his heart that this was the end.

"We aren't going to make it off, Jyn."

"I know."

They made it to the elevator. Jyn and Cassian stared at each other on the way down. 

"Jyn... I have so many things to tell you."

Jyn started to cry. "Those were ...my father's last words..."

Cassian thought before saying, "Well, they aren't going to be mine. I love you, Jyn."

He cupped her face in his hand and placed a kiss on her lips. He wiped her tears. 

The two of them limped to the beach,seeing the incoming nuclear sunset. As they turned into stardust together, they knew whatever the future may bring to the galaxy, Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor would always have a place in each others' hearts.
