      "Maki!"

       "Maki!"

I heard beeping like I was in a hospital or something. I also heard pounding. It sounded like a heart beating quickly. I didn't know if I was alive or not. Somebody was yelling my name and I started to open my eyes slightly and they fell back down. I couldn't see anything right now. All I could do was listen to people yell my name like they were worried or something. It sounded like Mom and Dad. But something was weird.

They've never worried about me like this before. This was not like my parents. I tried to open my eyes slightly again and I saw doctors with masks tending to both of my sides. I didn't understand what was going on at all. I didn't remember what happens before this. Why was I in the hospital in the first place?

I started to open my eyes a bit wider and sit up. I had bandages and casts on me in many places. One of the nurses sat a pillow behind me so I could sit up for a while more. Mom came over to me and said,

"Maki! I was worried sick! Are you alright now?!"

"I'm fine. Why are you worried so much? That's not like you. You used to be a care free person, and now you're worrying about your own daughter? It doesn't make any sense to me anymore." I ranted.

"Aren't Mothers supposed to worry about their children though? That's all I was doing." She argued back.

"Not you." I spat.

"Why do I even bother with human children anymore?" She said and walked off with Dad into the other room.

I thought for a moment and said to myself, "Human children?" I questioned, "But, isn't she a human?" Someone must've gave me some drugs because I started to get even more tired by the minute. I drifted off thinking about the weird thing mom said to me.
