Old Hollywood movies show basically all creatures great and spooky as ass kickers, disregarding all the little evolutionary sign posts that tell otherwise. Unlike a director who needs flashy to make cash-y, Gideon knew that each of her kids would need very specific, customized training. Her little vampire was not designed for a brute force attack; to try and train him as a bruiser would be a waste of her time and an insult to Dihil's natural abilities. His hand to hand focused less on brutal blows and more on precision strikes with an emphasis on dodging. He could be great at sneaking up in the dank, silent until he strikes. Hantu would also have less attack training and more trap, sabotage and camouflage for his focus. Simple facts were that Goblins are not fighters, lacked offensive magics entirely, and were scavengers by nature. Working with that inherent skill set would eventually help Hantu build confidence. Omen's training would be far more complex because his two sets of instincts would often be working at odds with each other. He had the calm strategy of a general and the cold inhumanity of the wielded sword, Gideon could very easily work that to diabolical ends but instead she intended to help him utilize his own nature. Cala also had a natural inclination towards leadership, the others had already started following her but her arrogant condescending attitude would quickly rub them all raw and she would lose their respect. Most High Elves look almost fragile in their willowy elegance, but they are secret powerhouses. Cala's human heritage gave her less magical access but gifted her an immunity to iron unlike most Fey. She could take more direct abuse than anticipated. Aglaope could not. She was not a fighter; like Hantu the Siren was better used at different tasks. There were similar gradients involved in training Furies; Gideon had been trained differently than her own mentor had due to Gideon's natural blood spell talents. All Furies had their own personal version of the 'zap', Gideon's being far more literal than most, but exactly how each worked their offensives varied greatly Fury to Fury. Gideon could use blood, any blood, all blood, and even some life force fluids that weren't exactly blood (but counted because some creatures use bile instead) to kill. She focused her actions by drawing sigils with the blood and that kept her from rampaging which would not end well for anyone.

Using a trick taught to her from her Golem friend Xavier, Gideon pulled forward little golemi. Mud figures that could obey only limited commands but bolstered by a witch's adapting spell were quite useful. That was a skill that made Furies so dangerous compared to the oftentimes more 'powerful' Portentums; a Fury can combine any spell or chant or power word with anything she wanted. A Necromancer that can pierce the veils and summon forth spirits has no training in how to even look for the raw power of the elements let alone have a clue on how to handle and harness them. Genetic inheritance played the dominant role in a Portentum's power, though like all things in nature there are the natural outliers; those that broke the rules and were the exceptions. That was a category that the Furies had fallen into. So Gideon easily mixed together Witchery and Alchemy, through in a little spit to imbue the figures with basic protocols and paired each kids off with their muddy doppelganger. The kids were facing off against a figure that would attack them like their own kind would. When trying something new, start at the basics, find familiar ground. All creatures mock fight as little whatsis, wrestling and figuring out instincts, so Gideon returned to that. “Your mud golemi is friend and foe. Give them a name, for you are now responsible for them. As you learn so will they, they reflect your efforts. Now you will have a mirror and will see yourself as others see you. Your lesson today, learn how hard you can go. These figures feel no pain, they can absorb physical assault so get comfortable touching them and moulding them. Talk to them, interact and by all the little gods, pay attention when they try to communicate back. Hantu, Agla- yours will reflect your subtler skills so it will be frustratingly harder for you to first detect them by have hope. Dihil, right now yours is on hold for reflection until the withdrawal passes but it will not take you long to realize the changes once stasis is removed. Cala, until your body has fully recovered from your blood letting, your golemi will not physically engage you, again you'll notice the changes once stasis is removed. Take this time now to start introducing yourselves to your partners in grime.” Gideon turned her sable matte gaze on Omen the Angelspawn and Mardrom the Nightmare.
