Gemini Hendrix💕

I clocked in just in time for me to start my shift. I was a make up artist for Sephora. I really didn't have to work I just did it because I really like to do make up He and it keeps the police off my back, wondering how I'm making all this money and I don't work.

I looked at the appointment book to see I didn't have any make up to do until twelve pm. So I just sat around chilling until thy time came, another make up artist sat across from me at her station. I looked her over.

She had wide hips with a big butt but with a very small waist. She worn some black tights with a white shirt that read, "Head Over You." On her feet she was rocking some gamma blues. She had a kinky curly type hair style and her make up was on fleek. She didn't seem ratchet, but knowing Texas. She could be from any where.

"Where you from?" I asked her. She stop what she was doing and eyed me.

"East Atlanta." She replied. I nodded.

"Zone 6." I said. She smirked.

"You from Atlanta?" She asked.

I shook my head. I'm from everywhere. I lived in so many places I don't know where to call home." I said.

"I'm Sandra Hollis." She said shaking my head.

"Gemini Hendrix." I replied. "How long you been working here?" I asked.

"Just 2 months. I just moved here to branch out some. I didn't want to stay in the hood forever. What about you?"

"A couple years. I know more about Houston then I know about any where else I lived." I said. She nodded.

"You seem exotic. What you mixed with?"

I started laughing. "iTaukei, well we were once call Fijians. My mom is from Fiji." I said.

She seemed like she was interested in it."do you speak it?" She asked.

I nodded."Vacava tiko?" I said. "It means how are you? I only speak it around my brothers" I replied. She nodded.

We ended up exchange phone numbers and social media accounts. She was a cool girl. I didn't have any friends, my cousins and brothers were my friends. They were all I needed in my life of sin.

Time flew by and I was finally off the clock. I clocked out and walked to my coupe. I didn't have anything to do today so I thought I'll stop by Guko's place to check up on Giovanni he should be out of school by now.

I pulled up to Guko's 2 story home. It's was a 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom house with a nice ass outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, and a basketball court.

I parked my coupe behind Grady's tricked out Mercedes Benz G wagon. I rolled my eyes as I step out the car. He had the truck painted a lean type color purple and the rims were iced out. I knew it was his because he had his name Grady painted on the back where the extra tire is at.

I walk into the house and went straight into the kitchen where I knew the chef made some food. "Hey Lori." I said.

Lori been cooking for us since we moved to Houston. She was a nice old lady from Jamaica and she made the best jerk chicken I ever tasted in my life. I gave her a hug and she motion for me to sit down.

"Yuh ah hungry gyal?" Lori asked in her thick accent. I nodded.

"What did you cook today?" I asked.

"Curry goat gyal, Nyam up." She said while sitting a big bowl of curry goat right in front of me. She gave me some hot pepper hot sauce and a glass of sweet tea.

I started eating my food when my little brother walked in. Giovanni took a seat next to me. He had his report card in his hand. "Gud bwoy get gud grades." Lori said taking his report card out of his hand. She eyed it and started smiling. "Gud bwoy." She replied. She started kissing him and hugging him him.

"What you get?" I asked him. He handed me the report card and my eyes got wide. He had got all A's. I knew my brother was smart but he was really smart.

"One of my Teachers want me to start looking at colleges early. He set me up to go on a college tour next month. You think we can go?" He asked me.

"Duh, of course. I want you to make something out of your life. What do you want to study besides law? You can pick a minor or something to fall back on."

"Probably photography, I like taking picture and I be getting a lot of likes on Instagram." He said.

I nodded. "That's sounds cool. I'll go to your school sometime next week and I'll talk to that teacher." I said.

He nodded. "I want some." He said taking my fork. I watch him as he chewed and nodded in approval. "What is it? It taste like chicken." He said.

"It's curry goat." I replied. He spit the food out so fast. He jumped off the chair and went to the sink to wash his mouth out. Grady and Guko walked into the kitchen. I was laughing at Giovanni as he sat back down beside me. "What's your teacher name?" I asked him.

"Mr. Carter, he's really smart he went Florida state university on a football scholarship but he got hit wrong on one of his games and had to stop playing ball. But he really smart and he might could get me In to that school." Giovanni said excitedly.

I nodded. "Already I'll go talk to Mr. Carter next week. Is he your English teacher or what?" I asked.

"He my English teacher and he also coach of the football team. I'm going to get my stuff ready. Guko is having a party tonight and I wasn't invited." Giovanni said mugging out bother as he walked out.

I eyed him. "What party you having to night?" I asked him. He sat across from me and Grady sat next to me.

"I'm having a big booty Houston bash." Guko said as him and Grady slapped hands.

"It's gonna be the talk of the town." Grady added. I rolled my eyes. I finna finish my curry goat and Lori came and took the bowl to the sink.

"So what's this talk about the organization? You not saying much? Like what do I'm suppose to do?" I asked him. I knew this talk was coming up. I wanted to get it out the way before anything.

"Monte want us to come to Trinidad to check out the product first. But, he want us to come during carnival." Guko said. I started dancing in my seat. The last time I want to carnival I was eighteen.

"So we got like 2 months." Grady said. I nodded my head. I got up out my seat and went to go wash my hands. "So you better make time off of work for this. We all going." Grady said walking out the kitchen. I rolled my eyes.

"Who gonna watch Giovanni?" I asked. They both eyed each other forgetting one small problem.

"Maybe we can ask-." Grady started. Guko cut him off.

"Hell no, that's out. We can take the little nigga with us, he'll be already. We can hire a baby sitter or something." Guko said. I nodded.

"That's fine, I'm leaving. I'm tired as hell and y'all boring me." I said leaving Guko's place heading to mine. I had a busy week before we head to Trinidad.
