After my dad woke up, the doctors and nurses took him for a scan. After bringing him back to his room, we start having and much needed conversation.

"You wanna see a picture of Jack and Bella?" I ask as I get my phone out of my pocket.

"Sure." My dad says.

I show a picture of the three of us at the park and then I put my phone away.

"Is he good to you?" My dad asks.

"Of course he is daddy. He knows about what happened and he makes me feel safe." I say.

"As long as you're happy." My dad says.

I go to day something else, but then my mom walks in with Maddison.

"Hello Mr Mills." Maddison says.

"This must be Maddison that you have been telling me about." My dad says.

Maddison waits outside and I allow my mom to have some time with her husband. I sit down next to Maddison and she starts crying.

"Maddison, why are you crying?" I ask.

"You're sending me back to New York in the morning." She weeps.

"Yes, but you're not going to go back to that place. My partner will meet you at the airport." I say.

"Where will I stay?" Maddison asks.

"I don't know." I say honestly.

Just as Maddison opens her mouth to say something, there is a bug condition going into my fathers room. I stand up and then my mom is forced out.

"What? What's happened?" I ask as I start heavily crying.

"I don't know. He closed his eyes and started fitting. Then he stopped breathing." My m says as she starts to cry too.

A man comes out and he has a concerned look on his face.

"What's wrong doctor? What's wrong with my husband and he father?" My mom semi screams.

"Mrs Mills, your husband hit his head quite hard during his accident which is what put him into a coma. Somehow, a piece of his skull has broken off and has been lodged into his brain. There's a bleed, so we are preparing him for surgery, but there's not a lot we can do. We can not pray that he pulls through." The doctor says.

"Oh my god." I hear Maddison say under her breath.

"Is he in pain?" I ask as I clench my fists.

"Miss Mills-" The doctor says before I cut him off.

"Is my father in any type of pain?" I ask again, this time through gritted teeth.

"He could be suffering from extreme headaches, but we won't know to the full extent until he wakes up. I'm sorry to say this but I must correct myself, if he wakes up." The doctor says before he goes back inside.

My father is quickly wheeled out of the room and I don't even get the chance to hold his hand.

"He's gonna be okay." Maddison says as I collapse into a chair.

"Didn't you hear the doctor? A piece of his skull is lodged in his brain!" I say as I verbally lash out at Maddison.

"I'm sorry Holly." Maddison says as her eyes water.
