Tala was lying in her bed as her parents were in the living room. She could barely hear them but she knew they were talking about what happen a few days ago. She wanted to tell them she will be fine but they all knew that she couldn’t take much more of this. With no more energy Tala close her eyes and started to dream of a better tomorrow.

“I can’t keep seeing my little girl go through this. I can’t” Tala’s mother Sandra said to her husband. Her mind was filled of all the times her daughter came home bleeding and the day she got a phone call telling her that her daughter was in the hospital.

“I know honey and I’ve been thinking. How would you feel if we move to California to live with my brother and his wife? But we might have to join their pack.” Sandra’s husband Seth said sitting next to his wife.

“Does your brother have room for us?”

“I called him last night he said he has more than enough room for us.”

“Why would we have to join the pack?”

“It’s mainly to protect Tala. If we join the pack they wouldn’t be able to hurt her.”

“When can we leave?” Sandra asks her husband. If there was a place where their daughter could live in happiness and never feel the pain she felt here. Then she was going to make sure she gets their daughter out of this hell as soon as she can.

“The sooner the better and when we start packing only bring the things we need. We can buy everything else.” Seth said thinking the same thing his wife was thinking.

“Then let’s leave in a few days or even tomorrow night”

“I can do you one better. How about to night? I already got the U-Haul.”

“Then let’s start packing and try not to wake Tala”

Seth nodded his head and walk to the garage to the U-Haul truck. And got the moving boxing he gave his wife a few. She started to pack pictures and clothes from their bedroom while Seth packed up pictures from the living room and a few items he knew his wife and daughter would want to keep. As Sandra and Seth packed up the different rooms of the house; they were unaware that Tala was awake. She was awoken by a nightmare. A nightmare where she saw their faces again, where she felt the pain they cause her, where she nearly die. The door to her bedroom open quietly and Sandra pops her head in to see if her daughter was still asleep. She was surprised to see her up.

“Are you ok baby?” she asks walking into the room

“Yes mom. I’m fine. What’s going on?”

“We are moving and getting out of this hell.” Sandra said walking to the closet.

“When”

“Tonight all the other rooms are done. Your father and I saved your room and the attic for last.”

“Are you going to pack my room for me” Tala ask her mom knowing that she could hear the sadness in her voice. Not over the fact they were moving but over the fact that Tala couldn’t really do anything on her own. No matter how hard she tired. She was too weak.

“Yes, but once imp done with your closet you can tell me what things around the room you want to keep,” Sandra tell her daughter not turning to face her. For the next 30mins Tala watched as her mother packed her clothes into 6 large boxes. After that she told her mom what she wanted to keep. Everything she wanted to keep fit nicely into one small size box.  Once everything was packed in the U-Haul truck Seth help put his daughter in the back seat of their 2012 Camry. Sandra was going to drive the car and Seth was going to drive the U-Haul.

“Wait dad.” Tala says looking beside the house. Sitting there was a white wolf with one blue and one grey eye. “Can we?” Tala asks her dad. The wolf was and is Tala only friend here. She didn’t want to leave him here. Just like her he was the rut of the pack.

“Only if he chose to leave with us honey” Seth tells his daughter. The moment that sentence left his mouth the wolf walked to the car and jump in lying right next to Tala. “Well that answers that question. It’s going to be a long drive but we will only stop for food, gas, and restroom breaks. Ok?”

Tala was losing energy so she just nodded her head. She move to lay her hand on the wolf’s back, she could feel some of his ribs. Her father closes the door and walk to her mother. “Let’s hope that where ever we are going we find a better life there than we did here.” Tala said to the wolf and to herself. With too much energy Tala lays her head down and faded into a dreamless sleep.
