Chapter 8

Zayn was painting when Louis and Cara came barging in his house without knocking once again.

'What!?' he asked annoyingly when the two wouldn't stop calling his name repeatedly.

'It's Harry's birthday?'

'Shh!' Louis shushed Zayn, 'If Harry hears, it won't be a surprise!'

'We thought we'd all throw a party for him. You're an adult, so contribute a hundred.'

'Party fees for a kid's birthday party?!' Zayn exclaimed in shock.

'Not party fees. It's the cake fee. We can't buy a whole one with our pocket change. The older folks took care of the other food...they're cooking it so you better contribute something!' Cara explained.

'Niall will bring the food this evening. Zayn, you get a present for him, too.' Louis added grinning.

'a present!? Wait, I have to paint toda-' Zayn hissed when Louis and Niall just walked out of the door without even listening to him. 'Well, I guess that's enough for today' he said to himself as he looked at his unfinished painting.

He imagined how Harry would react to what he thought as gifts for him.

...Your present is...a teddy bear!

Waah! It's a punching bag!

...A ribbon!

Yahoo! It's perfect wrapping around my head!

...Look, a hand mirror!

Yay! Laser beam!!!

Too bright!

'Hmmm, none of those suit him' Zayn muttered to himself as he thought of Harry's reactions if he give him those kind of things. It really doesn't suit him. 'what the hell would he like!?'

A cicada shrilled as it landed on one of the trees outside Zayn's yard. 'Shut up, Cicada!' Zayn shouted annoying at the insect as if it would listen to him. When the annoying sound still continued, an idea downed to Zayn. He dumped his fist in his other palm, 'Right!'

'Alright! I got it!' Luca shouted to his friend as he caught the bug with his net. 'I caught a cicada!'

'Yay!' the other kid cheered.

'Luca, got a moment?' Zayn called as he approached the kids.

'Ah, Zayn?' Luca looked at Zayn in question, 'Need something?'

'Well...I kind of need a favor.' Zayn crouched down in front of Luca, 'This is the only present I can think of. Could I have a rhinoceros beetle?' Zayn pleaded.

'No way!' Luca answered immediately which pissed Zayn off. 'One! Just one! I'll pay you ten coins! That's a lot for a kid, right?!'

'You're being a pest Zayn!' Luca screamed at Zayn's face, 'This present is for Harry, right? I'm giving him different types of beetles, and that includes rhinoceros beetle.'

'Just one won't hurt!'

'No! I'm gonna give him a hundred of them to make an insect bed' Luca beamed.

'That's more like a punishment!' Zayn grimaced.

'Besides I don't wanna give the same present as someone else!' Luca argued.

'Well, that's true...' Zayn turned to the other two kids who were with Luca, 'What are you giving him, Mico and Nico?'

'Don't make up names for us! It's Nicolai and Nathan!' the Nicolai one yelled at Zayn.

'We're giving him sweets!' Nathan said.
