My eyes flutter open. Great I'm still on the plane. I look outside my window. I can see the the beautiful view from up here. The baby blue light sky blending in with the white puffy clouds. This world has its beauty .. in a way. I'm too distracting from seeing this the sight, I didn't notice my mother nudging me.
"Lily, honey, we're just about to land. The pilot has just announced" said my mother ever so softly. Looks like she barely got up.
The pilot asked for seat belts on. I hear the click for reassurance. I tense as the plane is slowly and carefully landing. Goodness gracious I fucking hate planes with the passion.
My mother and I went to go retrieve our bags and once we did, we headed towards the new home. It was a drive alright but very dull.
It was pouring, that's no shocker. I think I will adjust to this weather, minus the lack of sun in this area of state. Before we head to our new home, we stop by a pizza place to grab dinner. After 15 minutes we head home.
We finally pull up to the brand new house. It's a glass wooden house. Why would my mother buy a house where people can clearly see you? No privacy. But wait, we have no neighbors around us. The next neighbors live a mile away from us. We are just surrounded by trees and quietness.
"Lily! Help me unload the our bags" mother requested.
I head towards her and start to wonder "Mother, where are the rest of our belongs, our house belongings?"
She looked at me silly. "They are already in the house dear, the stuff arrived before us. I told the moving workers to put everything in before we arrive. Here is your set of key for the house, don't loose it young lady. Now go on now, and take the rest of the stuff in, I'll catch up in a bit."
This house is no doubt beautiful. I put the key in the door knob hole and twist it. I open the door and see boxes scattered across the house. Can't you see this stuff from outside? Is that why mother looked at me so funny? Why was I was asking about the belongings when you can see from outside.
I set the stuff down in the living room. I go upstairs and see a couple of bedrooms available to choose from. Each room was incredible by the view. There were two master bedrooms, but one had a balcony. Well since I am the only child and sure mother wouldn't mind me getting this room, I claim it.
I hear voices from downstairs. I go into a other room that is facing the drive way, I see a black car parked in our driveway. I frown. Who can this person possibly be?
I head downstairs into the kitchen and see my mother, her back is facing me. She is talking to a man around her age. The unknown guy noticed me and smiled at me while mother turned around.
"Lily dear, meet James. James Scott. James, meet my lovely beautiful daughter, Lily." Mother said so cherry.
"Nice to meet you Lily, I'm your clostest neighbor." James stook out his hand.
"Nice to meet you Mr.Scott, I'm your farest neighbor" I replied back.
He stared at me for a brief moment but then gave into a short laughter.
"I like your daughter's personality, Rose" he said to my mother.
The way he said my mother's name sounded .. off. I didn't quite like it one bit. I don't think my mother noticed it because she laughed along with him. The way he looked at my mother, looked quite strange.
"Lily, I am also your principal for the high school. Shadow Mountain High School. Your mother tells me that it's your senior year this year. I hope your senior year is fantastic at Shadow Moutain." he says.
"Yes well, lets hope everything turns out fine in high school." I say.
"Well I must be going now. I must get ready for tomorrow morning. Nice to meet you Rose and Lily." he says while walking to the front door,
Mother and I trail behind him.
"Well have a nice day James, Good day." Mother says.
He nods and waves goodbye. He gets into his car drives away rather very quickly. Mother then closes the door and heads upstairs. I go back into the kitchen and grab something to eat. I grab the box of pizza and grab 3 slices. I eat in quiet and just stare outside of the view.
20 minutes have passed and I'm finally done eating. I find a cup from a box and fill it with water. I take my cup with me upstairs. I find mother in my room.
"I hope you don't mind me choosing this room already." I say to her.
"It's fine dear. I was just thinking hoping you would take this room. I don't like the balcony part of this room. I will take the other master bedroom." she says than leaves.
I look at the time on my phone and see it's 7 o'clock night already. It feels like it's eleven night already. I am out of energy to unpack my belongings. I will unpack tomorrow when I wake up. I go back downstairs to find my sleeping equipment, toiletries, and sleeping clothes.
I go upstairs and get ready for bed. I come out of the bathroom feeling tired. I better say goodnight to mother before I head to sleep. I go into her room and see her sitting on the floor using her laptop.
"I am going to sleep now. I know it's still early but jet lag is kicking in." I walk towards and hug her.
"Alright sweetie. Have a good night sleep. Goodnight. I love you Lily." She hugs me back and kisses my forehead.
"I love you too mom." It feels unright calling her mom. I've always called her mother. Saying mother sounds more right. I go back into my room and slumber into my blankets.
In two days I will be going to a new school. Lets not worry on that now, let's focus on sleep. I close my eyes and slowly drift into sleep.
Surprise! I know I haven't undated in a month or so and I'm super sorry. I've been having trouble finding some motivations to write. I also dedicated this chapter to brooklynxbrooklyn for giving me some motivation to write again. I will try to update as quickly as I can.
