The cold winds of November caressed my face. I was walking to school... I don't have a car, just yet, but I plan to get one soon. Even though I just turned 14, I used to drive a white motorcycle in California, but I didn't have enough money to take it on the plane with me, so I ditched it. The school building, of Forks Washington, came into view.
I can't wait.. I thought to myself sarcastically.
I walked slower toward the building, I hate going to new schools. I just moved from California. Now I'm at forks. The most sunny-less state in the continental U.S. Just my luck. A couple cars pulled into the school parking lot and parked near the building. They turned their cars off, but didn't get out. Probably just waiting for school to start.
I skimmed my eyes around the parking lot. I saw a glossy black motorcycle and a big man was leaning on the bike. He wasn't big, as in fat, but big, as in muscular. He looked older than a high schooler. He looked 20-21, but I knew he was about 16. I didn't know how, but I knew, he was younger. I stopped walking and looked at his face. He was cute, russet skinned, white teeth and he had short, black hair. A couple was standing in front of him, talking sternly to him. There was a small girl, with brown hair that went a little below her shoulders. She wore jeans and a white long sleeve shirt. The boy, she was holding hands with, had bronze colored hair, he was very pale, and had a black v-neck T-shirt, with jeans. He wore a tan jacket also. I gasped. I knew what they were talking about.
Vampires and werewolves? I thought to myself, again.
The bronze haired boy looked at me, and starred at me shockingly.
"What is it? Edward, what happened?" The girl asked, following his stare toward me.
"That girl.... she... knows." Edward answered her.
"Bella, ignore that girl. Edward is probably trying to scare you off." The russet skinned one told Bella.
"Jacob, dog, I'm not faking. It's true. Im not kidding, I'm not in the mood to kid around." Edward hissed to Jacob.
Well.. I knew their names. Jacob is the werewolf. Edward is the vampire. Bella is the human. Wow... I processed in my head.
Edward told Bella to stay, and walked over toward me. I backed away.
"I'm not going to hurt you." Edward whispered.
I looked around.
Of course he wouldn't hurt me, or that girl, cause we're in a public area. I thought to myself.
Edward nodded.
He could read my mind.
Edward stopped walking, and gaped at me.
"How... how are you figuring these things out?" He asked, truly confused. "Oh, I see. You have a hunch. You just figure these things out, on your own."
He stopped walking.
"What's her name?" Bella asked, walking towards me too.
"Jackie-Lynn." Edward answered her.
"I can answer for myself, thank you very much, and just call me Jackie. Please." I grumbled.
Jacob laughed. I looked up at him and smiled. His smile... wow..
Edward made a disgusted face. He looked at me.
"He only has eyes for Bella." He mouthed, when Jacob and Bella weren't looking.
I nodded. Edward and Bella walked away, continuing their conversation with Jacob, but Jacob looked back at me. I stared into his eyes and he stared into mine. He didn't look away and I didn't either. He looked familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on quite how..
