Ricky is walking back and forth in his bedroom. "Chloe," he thinks, "Chloe..." It's all he thinks about these past days. It's weird how you can start liking a person by acting like you're in love.   They never touched each other. Well, not more than just a hug or laced hands... They never kissed each other, only on the cheek. But every time he's with her, he wants to make a move. He's only afraid that she will reject him and then everything they did was for nothing. Maybe tonight, on their date, he can try to make a move, and if he can give her the right signals, he can see how she reacts. But there's just this one big problem; Josh Hyland.

Ricky is a hundred percent sure that she's not over him just yet. Because if she was, she would've stopped with this whole plan now, but she didn't, so that means that she's not over him. That means that Ricky has no chance. He looked at himself in the mirror, his hair gelled up, a black jeans, white shirt and a leather jacket. He knows he looks good in this, and these are the perfect clothes to wear to the fair. And maybe, just maybe he hopes a little that Chloe will have it cold tonight, so that he can wrap his arm around her or give her his jacket... Ricky walked downstairs and spotted his father on the couch, again with a beer in his hands. He glanced over at Ricky and saw that he grabbed his shoes, so his father started to speak up. "What are you going to do?" He grumbled, taking a large gulp of his beer. Ricky glared over at the multiple empty beer bottles on the table and then back at his father. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes for a brief moment and then started to speak.

"I'm going to the fair with a friend." He said, and actually, he was not even lying. "Again another girl?" His father chuckled, rolling his eyes, "not going to happen, you stay home." His father stated, causing Ricky's jaw to drop. "No," he argued, "I'm going to the fair, whether you want to or not" Ricky said. His father stood op briskly and walked towards Ricky, grabbing him by his collar. "If I say that you stay home, then you just stay home." He growled, the disgusting smell of alcohol escaping his lips. "No, I-" Ricky said, but then his father pinned him against the wall, balling his fist. "I will go" Ricky tried once again, not being afraid of his father. He knows what's going to happen anyways, he knows that whatever he does or says, his father will lose control once again. His father clenched his jaw and before Ricky could even realize it, he received his father's fist on his jaw, causing him to be slammed against the wall even harder. "You live under MY rules!" His father screamed, but Ricky stood up straight and clenched his fists as well. "If mom hears about this then-" He started, but again he got cut off by his father's fist, in his eye this time. "I swear if you tell your mother, you're dead." He threatened, "and now go to your fucking room, and if I see your face one more time tonight then..." He growled.

Ricky stormed off, running upstairs. He looked into the mirror and noticed how his jaw started to bruise, and he'll have a black eye in no-time. He pressed his lips on each other and sighed, closing his eyes and groping for his phone. And after only two rings, the other person picked up. "Hey Ricky, I already was wondering where y-" Chloe said at the other line. "Chloe, I can't go to the fair tonight. I'm sorry..." He breathed, and he tried his best not to cry. Guys don't cry. Chloe can't hear or see him cry. At the other side of the line, Chloe frowned, not understanding why he blew her off all of a sudden. "B- but why?" She asked. Ricky sighed and took a deep breath, "I just can't. I'm sorry. I see you at school, bye." He said, and he ended the phone call.  He threw his phone on his bed and fell down on it, closing his eyes.

And now, for the first time ever, a tear escaped his eyes because of his father.   Because he always manages to break everything. His ego, his self-confidence. And maybe even his now-fake-but-maybe-later-real-girlfriend as well.

Just everything.
