Chapter 4

He wore a big grin on his face as we walked through the corridor. He told me that in order not to get caught ditching school, you need to pretend that you have somewhere to be. I tried to walk straight ahead and have my back straight. But honestly, I was really nervous. I didn't know what they did to people who got caught. Some say a detention and others say you get RCP, but in some cases they say they get a money fine. Either way, if we were to get caught, I wouldn't like it. I flinched as I heard the bell ring, signaling that classes has begun. I looked around to see barely any students, expect to ones to we're now running to class that is.

We were now in the gym. I would've expected for us to just sneak past of the exits in the front but okay. Riku went to the very back of the door and opened it for me. I gave a small 'thanks' before walking through. However I quickly went back inside after what I saw.

   "Riku there's a class outside!" I hissed. He peeked his head out the door and saw the girl's P.E class doing a lap around the track. "See? I told you this was a bad idea. Let's just go back I think I can handle one tardy-" I rambled before Riku grabbed my hand and made a run for it.

What is he doing?!

I looked to see that the teacher was talking to student. Leaving her distracted. Oh, so he was looking for a opening. Riku let go of my hand and helped me up the brick wall that used to mark the school campus. I wasn't the best at stuff like climbing so I was scared at I was going to fall. I cling onto the wall as I watched Riku jumped onto the wall.

   "What you kids doing!?" I flinched at the sound of the P.E teacher yelling. Riku quickly hopped down and he reached both of his arms. "Don't worry I'll catch you. Just hurry up she's coming this way!" He warned. I looked at the field and sure enough, the 36 year old woman was walking quickly towards the wall where I was sitting.

What the hell am I doing with my life? I thought to myself as I jumped off the wall and landed in Riku's arms. Although his warmth was comfortable we had to run. I followed Riku's lead and we ran to the neighboring park.

As we entered the park we saw a small boy with brown hair playing with his partners as they chased him around the playground. They were smiling as if nothing around them mattered. I looked up at Riku, who was on the brim of tears.

   "(Y/n).... Do you think my parents were happy to have me?" He said in a soft whisper. What he said shocked me. "Riku, do you know how happy your mom and dad were when you were born? They were so carefree! They love you with all their heart Riku. I'm positive that they would be proud of you right now." I said trying not to cry at the thought of the deceased couple. Unlike me, Riku wasn't able to hold it in anymore and he cried. I know it might seem like he cries a lot but he only cries when it comes to the topic of his parents, and I'm usually the only one who ever sees him cry. I engulfed him in a side hug, one arm rubbing circles on his back. He was attempting at  making his cries as silent as possible but he was failing.

Eventually, his legs went weak and feel onto the soft grass that was beneath us. I was pulled as well by the sudden action  and I fell as well. This happens very often but everytime I feel such a strong amount of pity for him. Riku doesn't deserve this much sorrow. He's never done anything wrong.

I slowly let go of him. Thinking that he has calmed down a bit. The moment I let go of him, he instantly grabbed my arm and hugged it. As if I was going to leave.

   "Please don't." He started. "Just-
Please don't leave me."

I didn't say anything. Eventually, I took a nap the soft green grass and let the darkness consume me.

When I woke up, I found another pair of arms hugging my waist tightly. I didn't know what has happening. I looked up and saw Riku was also alseep,

And that he was spooning me.

I felt the blood rushing to my cheeks as j looked back ahead of me. I tried to somehow wriggle my way out of his grasp, but that just made him tighten his grip on me.

I shaked his arm in attempt to wake him up so I can become free of his grip.

Oh thank lord that this park is always empty..

One of my arms were trapped under my own weight, so I used my free arm to poke his cheek. I was hesitant to, but I poked his cheek quickly. He eyes fluttered and he mumbled something that I wasn't able to understand. 

   "Um..Sorry to wake you up but," I started. "Can you please stop with the -" Riku's eyes traveled down and he saw the position that we were in. His eyes widened. He quickly let go to me and shuffled backwards. He repeatedly said that he was sorry. I gave a nervous laugh and said that it was fine.

That's a lie I'm blushing like crazy.
