The young boy stared at his hands in disbelief. Red crimson blood scattered all over his hands and his body. He looked up to see his dead parents, blood still spilling out of his body. An unknown person randomly stabbed both of them repeatedly and stole whatever was on them and left. What the boy didn't understand was why he was spared. He slowly crawled to the edge of the sidewalk and waited for the cops to come, seeing as he could hear sirens in the distance.
"I want to go home.." He silently cried.
~Time Skip~
The cops knocked on the door. A young woman opened the door. This was (Y/n's) mother, (M/n). Their families were very close, causing (Y/n) and the boy to be best friends. (M/n) was informed by the police that the couple were dead. She was asked to take care of the boy seeing as on his records, these people where considered to be his guardians. She agreed and took the young boy inside and told him to go with (Y/n) as she ran up the stairs to tell her husband.
The boy knocked on the door which belonged to the young girl. (Y/n) opened the door with a tired look on her face. That changed as soon as she saw who was knocking on her door. "Riku!" She grinned and pulled him into a hug. "It's so good to see you again!" She said as she let him go of the hug. "Why are you here so late? If you don't mind me asking.." She asked as she lead him into her room.
Riku didn't answer. He was still in shock of the incident. He simply hung his head.
"Hey, are you okay? You can always tell me you know.." (Y/n) said as she sat on her (f/c) bed. Riku nodded. "My parents... aren't with us anymore." He explained as best as he could.
"What are you sayi- oh." She cut herself off. She felt her eyes beginning to water. Riku's parents felt like family to her. She couldn't believe the words that were coming out of his mouth.
As tears began to run down (Y/n's) face, Riku began sobbing. This continued all night as they both grieved over Riku's parents.
~The Next Morning ~
(Y/n) woke up to the sounds of screams. She looked next to her and saw Riku clutching the (f/c) sheets. She quickly tackles him into a hug. She didn't know what else to do. She kept saying comforting words as he cried on her shoulder. She knew that it would be a long time until things to get better.
Riku sniffed as he broke away from the hug. "I'm sorry, I got your shirt wet." He said as he wiped away his tears. She nodded and looked her alarm clock. It was 5am. "Do you want to go back to sleep?" She asked. He shook his head and he got off the girl's bed and slumped on the wall.
"I'll go get you a glass a water. I'll be right back. Just wait here." (Y/n) whispered and carefully opened the door, trying not to wake up her parents.
As the boy saw the young girl disappear into the hallway he whispered to himself. "I'm really glad I have (Y/n) without her, I don't know where I would be right now."
When the girl came back tell continued to talk until dawn broke out.
(Y/n) yawned as they both heard the sound of birds chirping outside. "I-I'm sorry for keeping you up so early." Riku stuttered. "You need to stop saying sorry Riku, I don't mind staying up for you." The girl innocently said.
Years have passed since then. Tomorrow is going to be the their second year of high school. I wonder if anything will happen..
