Special thanks to everyone who reads, votes, or comments! As always, enjoy!

Also guys, go hit up Princessmistress because she's hella cool.

This chapter is also really important - though it may seem like a filler - because this is the gateway to an arc in the story that is going to make things pretty interesting. Trust me. By chapter five you guys are gonna be seeing some stuff that I've had planned for a while.

Gotta love buildup.

Lucy's eyes bulged out of her head.

"What are you doing here?" She nearly shouted at the orange haired spirit, "Shouldn't you be in the spirit world resting?"

Loke sat on her bed, looking down at his hands, which were folded neatly in his lap, leaving his various rings on neat display.

Through all of the mess, Lucy had nearly forgotten that he had been injured, and with his sudden appearance in her apartment, felt a new wave of concern leech into her body.

Loke looked up at her, a signature smirk on his lips, "What kind of celestial spirit would I be if I didn't make sure you got home safely?"

Lucy rolled her eyes, "You need to be resting, you took a pretty big hit."

"I'll be fine," He assured her, "The strength of our love is already helping me heal."

She felt her cheeks redden as she huffed, "Would you get out of here with that?"

Loke's face suddenly turned serious, "Did you get the information you needed out of that guy?"

"What?" Lucy wrinkled her eyebrows.

"Before I got hit-" Loke started, "Before we started fighting, you said he needed to explain something to you."

"He's got a lot of explaining to do!" The memory bloomed before Lucy's eyes.

"Oh." She whispered.

"Did you?" Loke repeated himself, standing from the bed.

He hid it well, but Lucy could see him wince.

She shook her head, chewing the inside of her cheek, "No. I didn't even get to beat him."

Loke crossed the room and took his stance in front of her, putting a hand gently on her shoulder.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

She looked down at both of their feet, "He vanished.  It was like he had never been there in the first place."

Loke shook his head, taking a step back, "That doll," his words surprised her, "Did that have something to do with it?"

A frown cast itself on Lucy's face, and she nodded sadly, "Yeah."

His dress shoes clicked on the wooden floorboards as he crossed to take his seat on the bed once more. Lucy followed after him.

His shoulder lightly touched hers, and the two of them just sat there.

"You know," He said after a few minutes had passed, "I'll always help you, Lucy. It's part of our contract."

She sighed, "I know, and thank you, Loke. This is just something I think I need to deal with on my own."

Just as suddenly as it had appeared, Loke's serious side melted away, "Wouldn't want my good looks distracting you, huh?"

She knocked him with her shoulder, "You're way too confident, you know that?" She teased with a laugh, "Besides, you're hurt."
