"Man, what's taking her so long?" Natsu groaned. It was nearing noon, and there was still no sign of Lucy.
The regular ruckus of the guild bustled around him, but today he had no desire to join in. It was just so boring without her around.
Truthfully, he hadn't slept well. Something about Lucy's behavior the day before had unsettled him - it was like she was hiding something from him. He wanted to know what it was.
And then there was that weird feeling he got when he realized that Loke was in her house. After that, he didn't even have the heart to go sneaking in like he usually did.
Something just didn't seem right.
Happy, on the other hand, seemed oblivious to the sudden change in their teammate, and was currently urging Carla to accept another one of his desperate love pleas.
"You still waiting on Lucy?" A soft giggle came from behind him.
"Hey, Lisanna." He greeted the white- haired girl as she took a seat next to him.
She had returned from Edolas not too long ago, and Natsu had been extremely happy. Her 'death' had been an incredibly painful blow to him, one that had hit almost as harshly as Igneel's disappearance.
He mustered a small smile for her. She hadn't changed a bit.
She smiled at him, her blue eyes bright, "You know," She said, "You could always just go check on her. Maybe she's not feeling well."
"She was acting really weird yesterday." He commented, for the time being ignoring her suggestion.
"All the more reason to go check on her!" Lisanna urged, "You're always over at her house, anyways, so what could it hurt?"
Natsu narrowed his eyes at her, feeling slightly embarrassed, "What's that supposed to mean?"
She let out a laugh, "Still just as oblivious as ever, I see."
Natsu intensified his glare, grumbling something indeterminable to himself while burying his head into his arms.
Lisanna's hand came to rest on his back, "I think you should go see her."
"She'd just kick me out anyways." He mumbled.
"You never know," He could hear the smile in her voice, "Maybe it's you she's waiting on."
He didn't know what had come over himself. Normally, he would have already high-tailed it over to Lucy's place with no hesitation. It felt like something was holding him back - but he was worried.
It was just that, whenever he thought about it, something inside of him started to feel funny. Maybe it was something he ate.
Maybe, it was just an effect of what little sleep he had gotten.
He turned his head on the pillow his arms had made, peering at his friend, "You think I should?"
She shook her head at him, "Didn't I just say that?"
Finally, he grinned at her, sitting back up, "Okay, then I will!"
She rolled her eyes as she watched him hastily make his way out of the guild, curious, even after so many years, where he seemed to find all of that sudden energy. He was all fired up.
Happy suddenly landed next to her, a mackerel clutched protectively in his paws.
"Hey, Happy." She greeted him, ruffling the fur on his head with her hand, "What's up?"
