Shadow
Falling, failing, whistle, crunch
Splatter
"No!" The voice cries,
sunset skies illuminating the words spoken through bittersweet teeth
Glare against glasses, broken and askew on the face that was recognised to be ours
Soft grass, trickled with colour
Bang!
Car doors slam,
the bodies in blue,
hands stained with the silence where a pulse should've been
Corpse showered in scarlet, what a surreal lack of heartbeat
Yet still, the mind shivered.
"I'm lost."
We know, we responded. We know
Emotions once great
Now small
The eyes looked downwards
And somewhere above, we wondered
