It looked like the shape was flying
grey skies spilled raindrops
and we laughed
whispering worry and birthday-cake-wishes to never be granted
a spitting image of us, illuminated by only the glow of the quickly rising sun
The sky, which should've been pink and orange
drenched in monochromatic light
dreamlike and bizarre
it crashed onto the damp earth, sinking down into the mud
and
