The sand that had once caused your most horrific nightmares had now become one of your greatest sources of comfort. The sand shifted peacefully around you where ever you went, it followed you like a puppy. Whenever you felt fearful or upset it seemed to know and rushed to cheer you up, it truly was a little golden guardian. It may not be an actual Guardian like the others but it did everything it could to protect you.

After a long week of recovery, you were finally able to stand and walk on your own. You decided to take a walk through the workshop to see what the yetis were working on, you loved seeing all of the different colors and possibilities of toys. As you strolled around, the sand followed peacefully behind you, it would float around you as you would stop to look at the variety of toys.

"I see you're feeling better."  You jump at the sudden voice and next to you to see none other than Jack Frost. You smile in relief seeing that it was only him, the sand around you calmed after feeling your fright calm. Jack laughs as the sand swirls around him then back to you. "I guess MiM was pretty worried about Pitch being around to give you your own little magical guardian," he says as he puts his hand out for the sand to swirl around on his palm.

You nod and look to the floor, you hadn't thought about Pitch all day. The sand swirls around your face and tickles your nose in an attempt to cheer you up.  You chuckle and shoo the sand away with your hand.

"No offense to Sandy or MiM but, how is this little bit of sand supposed to actually protect you when you are in danger? I mean, why not just let us do it." Jack says as he leans on his staff. The sand tenses around you but you calm it and put it into a small glass vial that Sandy gave to you so you could carry it around with ease. "I honestly have no clue," you say as you put the vial into your pocket, "but I trust MiM. And I don't doubt that you can help, but you guys have jobs to do."

Jack nods with a sigh, he couldn't deny that everyone is always busy even he could get busy at times. "It's not your fault Jack, it's none of yours. You all have a job of keeping the kids of the world happy, if MiM thinks that this is best, then we have to trust him." You say putting a hand on his should, he was freezing to the touch. Jack smiles and puts his hand on yours and nods. Your smile drops and you back away a few steps. "But I just don't get it. What does Pitch want with me? I know what he said and all but, what would he have done if the nightmare sand had taken over me completely? What does he want?"

Now it was Jack's turn to comfort you. "Hey, it'll be okay. You're special, and there is no doubting that." You look at him with a small smile, you still didn't know what made you so special and it didn't seem as though the Guardians knew either.

You are pulled out of your thoughts as Jack stops leaning on his staff and begins to stretch. "Well, gotta run, duty calls! I need to deliver snow to Burgess." With that he gets a runs off waving goodbye.

After walking around the workshop and messing around with the elves for another two hours you decide to make your way back to your room. The Guardians were nowhere in sight the entire day, they all had their respective jobs that required keep a tight schedule and making deadlines. You hadn't even seen North either, he was locked up in his office all day working on designing new toys.

You let the sand out of the vial and into the larger jar on your nightstand. It drifted happily around in the jar. You walk over to the fireplace to stoke the fire but notice that there was a plate of cookies with a note next to it on the brick base around the fireplace. Picking up the note you notice that it is from North.

Dear (y/n),

I am greatly sorry that we did not have time to speak with you today, I have been busy due to the incoming Christmas season. I promise that we have not forgotten about you. As an apology I had my elves make you some cookies.
