Another short chapter but it seems writing block has struck. I can make such good ideas in my head then when I go to write they just all disappear. Thank you for those who are patient with me. I know it can't be fun waiting for the updates like you do.

Chapter 5

The past week flew by without incident. I actually enjoyed my time spent with Ryan. We were officially a fake couple. It was even in the gossip magazines thanks to the small grainy photo that caught Ryan looking at me. I had to admit it was a cute picture. His quirky sense of humor had caught me off guard and I was laughing while he had an adorable smile plastered to his face.

That night he had talked me into going and seeing a movie. I know I should have kept my distance but I just couldn't. I never could when it came to him. So I decided to let myself go. He bought the tickets and we went to see The Woman in Black. I hadn't seen the previews and Ryan convinced me I would like it. He was wrong. I'm a big baby when it comes to scary movies. My head was buried into his shoulder the whole night. And by the end of the movie, the arm rest was up and Ryan had me pulled tight into his side.

The walk to the car was terrifying. I thought I saw the Lady everywhere I looked. By the time we arrived back at my place I was starting to calm back down. That was until Ryan decided to sneak up behind me and say “boo”. I had screamed and dove into my bed, flinging the covers up over my head. I heard his chuckle and tried to pull off a frown but something must have been off when I looked at Ryan. He stopped laughing and sat down beside me on the bed.

“Hey, you OK, Aye?” My lip started to quiver. How could I be such a baby about this. I shook my head and looked down. I heard him sigh as he stood up. Hearing a rustling sound I peeked to the side and watched as he pulled his clothes off, leaving him just in boxer briefs. Crawling back into bed, he pulled the covers over us and pulled me down to lay with him. Once he had me tucked into his side he spoke again. “I'm sorry, Ayla. I didn't know how much you hated scary movies.” He whispered into my hair.

“I'm just a big baby. You shouldn't have to feel bad about it.” I mumbled into his chest. My nerves were calming at the steady beat of his heart. He just wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer.

I thought I heard his mumble “but I do” but didn't say anything. He kissed my head and said good night. I brushed my lips against his chest, feeling a slight shiver from him and fell asleep.

The rest of the week had been much the same. Going out to dinner or to see a movie. Sometimes he would take me to the ice rink and we would skate. But we always ended the much the same way. Cuddled up in my bed talking and laughing about funny experiences or just taking relaxing. I found out that he was amazing at working out the kinks in my next from painting or sculpting all day. For a full week, I had been waking up to delicious white chocolate mochas. He would get up early to go on a run with Reece and would be back and have it made by the time I got up. Everything was amazing.

But tonight was a big night. Tonight I was hosting a party for Save the Arts. It is a organization that helps pay schools to keep art and music classes from being eliminated from a school's curriculum. I started the program when I started making big sales. And tonight Ryan and I would be going out in spotlights. Photographers would be everywhere because of the celebrities that come out to support the cause. It was the first year we were having a auction and dinner party. Mostly we had just random donation events. But the formal event tonight was going to be huge.

I was just finishing my make-up when Ryan walked in with a confused expression on his face. The bow tie around his neck looking like a toddlers hair bow. I chuckled as I saw him un-do it and try again. I couldn't help but laugh out loud when he hung his head in defeat.

“I can't do this, Aye.” He said pulling the bow tie off. He held it up shaking it with force. “I have tried ten damn times to tie this. I even looked up a YouTube video on my phone. How sad is that.” He looked up and froze as I walked toward him. My electric blue dress flowing gently behind me. A small smile crossed my face as I noticed how the his eyes trailed slowly down my body then back up. I stopped in front of him and touched my finger to his chin and gently pushed it closed.

“Wouldn't want drool all over your tux, would you?” His eyes snapped to mine and a slow smirk crossed his face. I took the bow tie out of his hands and looped it around his neck, quickly making the perfect bow. Patting it, I looked up into his eyes, “There all done.”

We just stood there, looking at each other. He looked good in a tux. It showed off the his wide shoulders and fit body. He looked like a million dollars. I smiled at his small grin and went to turn away to grab my hand bag. His hand caught my wrist and pulled me back around.

“You look gorgeous, Aye.” His small smile turning into a heart stopping smile. “That color looks amazing on you.”

I could feel a blush start to creep onto my cheeks. I smiled shyly and thanked him. Telling him he looked nice as well. He pulled my hand up to his mouth and kissed the back of it. “I mean it, Aye. You look... Words can't describe what you look like right now.” He smiled at me. “You ready to go? Teagan and Reece are going to be here soon.” He must have seen my nerves because he asked if I was OK.

I nodded and walked to grab my purse. I can do this I kept telling myself even though I was nervous as a sinner in a church. I smiled at Ryan and looped my arm through his. He gave my hand a squeeze and smiled back. I can do this I told myself again and walked out to meet Teagan and Reece.
