Green Pastures

Here

In this dark, dark place

These plains of humanity.

This confusing land.

I see darkness, sorrow and pain.

I see the grass under my feet

--parched and yellow.

I see the sky high overhead

--storm clouds are gathering.

The cold is biting at my soul.

All

In this land of sadness.

Look! Over there

I can see them!

See, those fields of sunshine.

See, those green pastures.

Of happiness!

There, can you see the grass?

Bursting living green, flowers

--the most beautiful carpet in the world.

See the bright heaven above?

Always blue, the sun always shining

--look at those uncontainable skies!

Oh, how I wish to be there!

Alas, I cannot

Not yet.

For now, God binds me here.

I have a family.

I have people

Depending

On me.

Yes, I love them!

They bring some light into this dark land.

Sometimes the sun breaks through the clouds.

Sometimes I see green life in the earth.

For now I stay in these plains of humanity
