Chapter 1

||Time set around 1:00 (she works the morning-lunch shift)||

Meredith's POV
"Hi welcome to Starbucks what would you like to order?" I said as I plastered a smile across my face. My shift was almost up and I was ready to get back home. She turned toward me and said "I would love a water" She was so pretty I was sorta jealous. As I was about to ask her name 2 guys and another girl walked in rather loudly as they searched for a table "Hey Alissa" one guy blurred out she glanced over smiled at him and yelled back "heyyyy Lucas!" She faced back my direction "The name is Alissa" "okay great" I softly said as I wrote her name on a cup and went to go get her water. Alissa went and sat next to the girl at the table. Lucas and the other boy who was really hot sat across from them. I looked at the really cute guy for a moment then he glanced my direction. I quickly snapped out of my gaze and looked down and the cup I was blushing I could see him smiling. "ALISSA" I called out loud enough for her to hear. I knew where she was but I looked around the room pretending i didn't. She glanced up at the cute boy and lazily pointed toward me. Gesturing him so go get her drink for her.  I just stood there with an awkward half smile and he began to walk over to me. "Hi I'm Jake" I blushed "Im Meredith" I said sort of shy as I gazed down at the water in my hands. He looked back and his friends the other guy was making a face at him and laughing Jake rolled his eyes. "anyway....I thought you were really cute and I was wondering if could get your number?" I smiled "sure!" I wrote on the cup Jake winked as he took it from my hands as he walked back to the table I could see him adding it into his phone. I glanced up at the clock my shift was basically up so I went to the back of the shop and took of my apron and hat slipped them in my bag. I started my way out of Starbucks and looked back to see if Jake was staring  in my direction. He was looking directly at me he didn't bother to look away he just smiled and waved a little. I laughed and got in my car I couldn't wait to be home.

||Fast forward to later that afternoon/Time set around 5:00 p.m.||

*ding* I glance over at my phone "please be Jake please be Jake please be Jake" I said to myself. As I paused the tv I grabbed my phone and began to read the text.

J- Hey it's Jake! Do you want to get dinner tonight?

M- Of course! What time?

J- I was thinking I get you at 8 from your place.

M- That works I'll send you my address. I've gotta get ready for dinner I'll catch you later.

J- I'll see you there!

"Ahhhh!!" I squealed startling my cat Venus. "Haha aww Venus I'm sorry" I picked her up and took her to my room so I could get ready. I have only lived in California for around 6 months so I haven't really made any close friends. So that's why I wanted to impress Jake so much. I went to my closet and got a black tee shirt dress with some thigh high black velvet boots a denim jacket & a choker. I unbraided my hair so it would be wavy. "VENUSSS... VENUSSS... ugh where are you" *jingle jingle* "omg VENUSSS come on let's watch some Netflix before Jake gets here" *ding dong* "speaking of Jake here he is"
