(Experimenting with the style)
You didn't know what to do.
There was no possible way that she would like you now. You turned your back on the woman you loved. She wouldn't smile at you the same way she would do every time. (Her eyes would sparkle and her lips would curl up, it was a heavenly smile.)
Mudblood.
You have called people like that, but never her, never Lily. Once, she caught you calling a Hufflepuff that word and scolded you like a mother. But she smiled and said, "It's not nice, Sev, but you're nice, aren't you?" Of course you said yes.
But right now, you weren't sure about anything except the fact that your weren't nice.Being friends with a Gryffindor- and the one girl that James Potter (that git) might be interested in -was a gamble for you. You weren't popular with Slytherins and she was your only friend but now, Snivellus was friendless.
If only you could say sorry. (You could.)
If only she would forgive you. (She wouldn't.)
Because no matter how golden her heart was, what you did was unforgivable.
Trust is fragile, remember that, would you?
:
The invincible James Potter was laying there, no life in him. Your hope was already drained when you saw him. How could you have mustered the energy to continue? You knew what you would see. A disaster. A tragedy. A heartbreak.
But that didn't stop you, did it? In the back of your mind, you were hoping that she was alive, that she was still breathing, that she was still Lily. However, your heart shattered into pieces when your eyes landed on her dead body, all the magic in her eyes gone.
You remembered her last words to you. They wee ringing inside of you.
No matter what, you'll still be my best friend. Always.
You saw the baby, the Chosen One. His eyes, oh, his eyes. Like Lily's green orbs. He was crying and you knew you had to help him. But how could you when you're probably as damaged as he was? You cradled her body and cried because that was all you could do.
You tried to save her, you really did. You knew that Voldemort would be targeting her family, her baby. They went into hiding and you thought that was enough. Nothing was ever enough. You were stupid to believe that you could try do something to keep them safe. You were just a man. No, you were just a boy who was in love with a girl who did not look at your way.
You didn't know what to do.
