Chapter Nine.

                            Grief

Chase

"Honey, you have school. Get up." I heard my mother yelled from downstairs, I rolled over. I stayed like that for awhile into she came into my room. "Chase, please get up." She says nicely, I covered my face and turned over away from her. She sighed. "Chase, Je ne tolérerai pas votre comportement. Levez-vous maintenant ou vous devrez traiter avec moi! (I will not tolerate your behavior. Get up now or you will have to deal with me)." My mother yelled getting anger, I sat up and looked at her. "Mother, I have lost my soulmate, my everything and you want me to care about school right now." I say sadly, she looked down and walked up to my bed. She sat next to me and hugged me.

"I'm so sorry, my boy." She mumbled, I hugged my mother and let everything out. I cried, I cried my heart out. "M-mother I-I hate t-this feeling." I sobbed, she hugged me tightly. "Shh. Don't think about it." She repeated as she rocked me back and forward like she use to do when I was little. I nodded and continue to cry. "Look at me." I looked at my mother, she smiled sadly. "You are strong. You will get through this." She said as a tear came down her face. "Mother, why are you crying?" I asked as I wiped my tears, she laughed sadly. "I hate to see you like this." She answered, I sniffed and hugged her. She hugged back. "She is missing a great growing young man." I heard my mother whispered. "Mother please let me miss this day of school. I can't face her today." I pleaded, she nodded before leaving. I laid back into bed and just sleep my sadness away.

I haven't seen Chase all day, I'm a little worried. "Hey baby." I turned around to see Luke, I smiled and kissed him. "Hey." Right now we are at lunch, Kima and Leo came and sat down at the table. Kima didn't even look at me. "Hey Lyrics." Leo said, Kima nodded at me but thats all. "Are you seriously going to be like this Kima?" I asked annoyed, she gave me a mean glare. Like what the hell did I do?! "Hm. Yes I am." She said rudely, I folded my arms. "Why are you being such a bi-" She narrowed her eyes at me "I wish you would finish that damn sentence." She snapped, my eyes widen. "Um...Luke we should give them so space." Leo said, Leo and Luke got up and left. Once they left Kima went off on me. "How dare you try to call me a b*tch?!" She yelled, I gave a 'hell nah' look.

"What the fuck did I do?!" I yelled, she shook her head. "You...you. No I can't with you." She said getting up and leaving. I got up and grabbed her. She turned around. "What?!" I pulled her to the side so we don't make a scene. "Kima, what did I do wrong?" I asked, she looked down. "Why, why did you get with Luke?" She asked, I looked away. "Because I like him alot..." She looked at me. "You like him alot more than you like Chase?" She asked, I shrugged. "Yeah. I guess." I say, she started walking off. "I am sorry. Okay? I'm that Luke makes me happy." She turned around and got close to my face. "What did he do that made you pick him?" She asked serious. "He cares for me." She rolled her eyes. "I just don't understand you anymore. Chase ask you on a date, he cared, he likes you, he bought you flowers, you met his parents and he's a straight gentleman. How the hell did Luke get picked?" Kima said, I rolled my eyes. "Im done with this talk." I said, she nodded and went to Leo. I went to Luke. "What happened?" He asked concerned, I sighed. "Me and my best friend got into an argument." I answered, he shrugged. "It'll be okay baby. She'll come around." He said, I nodded. "Maybe." He kissed my cheek. "Here. Come here I got something that will take the edge off." He said, I shrugged and we went outside to the side of the school where no one can see us. Luke took out an blunt and lit it up. "What are you doing? We could get caught." He laughed at my comment, he inhaled it but exhaling. "Try it." I shook my head, he kissed me passionately. "Please...for me?" I sighed and took the blunt, I inhaled it. Soon, I coughed it out. He laughed. "Shit baby you okay." I nodded. We continue to smoke into it was all gone. "Here lets do this little bit." I nodded as he took out a small blunt. I took it and inhaled it. "I dare you to hold it in." I hold the smoke in for five seconds then exhaled. "My baby girl smoking like a pro." Luke said with a smile, I kissed him. He kissed me back and we finished the blunt. I started to feel really really calm and dizzy. "Oh shit." Luke say as his eyes narrowed a little bit, mine did the same. I laughed out of random, he grabbed me and spinned me around. I laughed and smiled. "How you feel?" He asked, I sat next to him. "Gooood." I say, the bell rung. "Haha ding ding dong ding dongggg." I say laughing, Luke laughed. Look like we ain't going to class. Ha.

Kima

"Baby ain't Lyrics in this class?" Leo asked, I looked at the desk she usually sit in. "Shit." I say , Luke is up to something. I got up and left. F*ck the teacher, I gotta go see where my bestie at. I walked around the school. I thought I wasn't going to find her into I heard her laughing. I followed the sound to see..she f*cking smoking. "LYRICS MOTHERF*CKING WATERS!" I yelled, I didn't care if I sounded like her mom but I was finna be her *ss. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" She laughed and walked up to me. "Luke and I was just smoking a blunt." I looked at her disappointed. "It's a damn shame...of what I'm finna do."I say, she laughed. "What?" She asked, I slapped the hell out of her and grabbed her hand and took her away from Luke. He didn't even noticed with his high self.

I took her to my car, we got in. I can't take her home so I took her to my house and texted her mama and said she's spending some time with me. I laid her in my bed and covered her up. I sighed loudly as she wouldn't stop laughing.  "Shut up and sleep." I say but she shook her head. "Chase is hot but...LUKE IS HOTTIER!" She said before slowly going to sleep. Damn it.
