Chapter 1

“Coming” I called moving toward the door. I pushed the panel on the side of the wall and the door slide open to reveal Gippal leaning on the wall across from the room. “Hey, what’s up,” I asked.

“You my friend are one lucky lady,” He said pushing off the wall behind him and walking the three foot distance between us.

“Oh, and why is that?”

“Cause your lucky enough to have me as a tour guide for your first look at Traverse Town… That is if you’re allowed?” He said peering over my shoulder looking for my mum.  I was overflowing with excitement! I couldn’t wait to look around at this new and exciting world. I had absolutely no idea what it looked like and I could hardly contain myself. I shot Gippal I smile before turning to look at my mum.

“Hey mum, Gippal’s offering to show me around town! Can I please go?” I pleaded.

“Oh, alright honey, go make friends and have fun while I do all the house work by myself, all alone, with no help,” She said making it kind of obvious she would prefer the help but I was too excited to properly notice. I rushed over to her and gave her a hug.

“Thanks mum I’ll be back in time for dinner,” I called racing out of the room before she had a chance to respond.

Gippal was yet again leaning lazily on the wall.

“Ready to go,” he smiled as he walked over to me.

“Yeah, is Rikku coming,”I asked.

“Nup, just me. It’s Rikku’s turn to do maintenance,” he said as we walked through the maze of halls toward the entrance of the ship. With that Gippal’s phone started to chime. He pulled it out of his pocket and looked at the screen. “Argh, I have to take this, just a second,” He sighed. A waited in the hall while he walked back a little bit for some privacy. I Watched him pace back and forth disposition going from happy and jovial to somewhat annoyed. When he finished the phone call he walked back over with his hands behind his head mumbling something that sounded a bit like ‘idiot’ as he went.

“What was that about?” I asked.

“That my friend was the cavalry, and they are coming here to meet us any minute.” He said as we continued walking. “I should warn you in advance one of them can be a little –“

“Hey, over here Gippal,” Gippal’s warning was cut short by the calls of a tall, black haired boy who was waving us over.

“Idiot didn’t I say wait at the entry gate” Gippal called back. Two more guys appeared behind the guy waving at us. One of them also had black hair but he was taller and the other one was a little shorter with blonde hair. “Vincent, I thought you would be able to at least hold him back a little longer,” Gippal sighed.

“Sorry, he slipped through my fingers,” The taller black haired guy said who was apparently called Vincent.

“Come on Gippal, it’s been ages since anyone new has shown up,” The other black haired boy said. “Oh I get it you just want to keep her all to yourself.”

“Can it Fair!” Gippal said. We had now caught up to the three guys and Gippal began the introductions with a sigh. “Okay -----, this is Zack” he pointed to the energetic black haired guy. “Vincent,” he gestured to the other black haired guy. “And Cloud” he pointed to the blonde. “Guy’s this is -----.“ Cloud and Vincent both said a polite hello while Zack stepped forward.

“Nice to meet you -----, I can see were going to be great friends.” He smiled linking an arm with mine. “Shall we begin the tour,” he began pulling me along and I let him.
