Chapter 1
The crack of light appearing from my window shone down revealing my messy, dusty, wooden floors.
My alarm rang at exactly 7am, signalling I had to wake up and get dressed and ready for my first day as a senior at school. I felt a mixture of excitement and authority, but at the same time I felt tired and bored of the same routine everyday ; same people, same scenery.
I slowly flopped out of bed and padded to my bathroom, brushing my dirty blonde hair out of my face and tying it at the back of my neck. I smothered my face in face wash and splashed cold water to rinse it off, failing miserably and covering the floor in soapy water.
After applying some concealer and mascara I brushed my hair down into its neat straight locks and went to the wardrobe to find something to wear. I decided on a pair of skinny-fit blue jeans, a loose fitting black tee with "The Killers" logo on, and some white converse.
"MOM IM GOING!" I shouted to her, hovering in the doorway shoving a banana in my mouth. No response.
I shut the door behind me and started walking down the warm sidewalk and stuck both earbuds in and picked up the pace, hearing a faint sound of rowdy boys in the background.
I yanked my headphones out as I finally reached the gates to school, attempting to dodge all the annoying cliche cliques to get to my first class of the day, History.
Taking my seat, I saw an unfamiliar face enter the side door to the room and shake hands with our professor.
He had a very tall, wispy blonde quiff that veered off in the right direction. His pale skin was dusted with a light caramel colour which made him glow slightly in the garish light of the room.
His nose was small and pointy that flicked up at the end in a cute Dorito kind of shape.
Dotted at the corner of his lip was a small lip piercing, at this point in time I couldn't tell if it was a black ball or a black ring, either way it looked ravishing on his happy face.
As he slinked his way to his seat directly next to me, I noticed how tall and lanky he was. I'd say he was around 6ft 3 and his legs were the same height as my whole body.
He was wearing a black top with a white scribble on, with an indigo blue denim jacket with the sleeves rolled up, black hood sagging at the back of his neck. His black skinny jeans and black vans gave me a glimpse of his white ankles, I smiled at that.
All in all, he was a very attractive looking boy, but he definitely didnt look like a local. He was almost foreign looking.
"Hey," an Australian accent wafted into my ears and sent tingles trough my body. He was Australian! What else does this boy have to attract all the girls, "I'm Luke. You've been staring into space for the past 10 minutes are you okay?".
"Oh! God sorry hi! I'm Alina, sorry I was just in a bubble of thought. Are you new here?" I asked him, babbling on.
"Yeah, Australia transfer. I came with 3 other boys that are good friends of mine and their parents, for some reason apparently it would be better for us all, we're still not completely sure why but we came and I guess it's not too bad here. Bit cold!" He rubbed his shoulders. Its the peak of summer here?
"This is summer here you know? It's going to get a lot colder, I guess you're not used to this weather. So, are you staying close by?" I asked, wondering what area he would be in, and if it was anywhere near me.
"You know the block of glass apartments round the corner? Well I'm sharing a room with one of the other lads, and the other two are doing the same next door. You could come check them out, show us round the area?" Luke suggested to me, the corners of his lip curling up.
"Sure, I'll see you later then." I giggled shyly to him.
"...Actually, I'll see you now. Class only just started you dork." He laughed and his straight white teeth came out, his eyes crinkling.

I finished the class and walked down the corridor, a permanent smile on my face. He was a really nice guy and hopefully he wouldn't turn out to be a womaniser or something like that.
Whilst in a daydream I knocked into another tall guy who was walking very slowly.
I looked up and the first thing that caught my eyes was his hair! It was sticking up at the back, and brought down swooped to the right side of his face. It was white on either side of his head, and the swooping fringe was black. I'd never seen anything like it.
He also had black skinny jeans on, but with a black sweater designed with a white skull adorning the front.
"Sorry!" The Australian accent boomed over me. It must be one of Luke's friends, since this was another unfamiliar face.
"No it's fine! It was my fault anyway, I wasn't even looking where I was going." I smiled and carried on walking.
As I walked, I turned behind me and the gangly Australian had also turned around too, and he flashed me a toothy grin and stuck his stubby thumb up in the air.
