Raindrops raced down one of the many windows in the Cullen home as rain clouds prevented the sun's light from seeping through to the small town. The sea of trees that surrounded the home seemed to ripple with every gust of wind that came flowing through their branches. While the dark weather would've put anyone else in a melancholy mood, Angel Cullen found herself being comforted by it instead.
She stood near the window and watched the calming descent of water upon the Earth. Angel's golden eyes danced between the raindrops on the tree leaves to the raindrops that were on the hood of her brother's silver Volvo. She felt like she was deep in a trance, mesmerized by the way the water rolled down each object it landed upon.
"Angel, did you unpack already?" Her mother, Esme's, honey-toned voice broke through whatever hypnotization the raindrops had put her under.
Angel turned away from the window, her eyes making contact with identical ones. A small groan left her throat as she made her way over to the creme-colored couch, plopping down on it unceremoniously.
"Not yet, mom, but I promise I'll do it later." She threw her head back on the back of the couch in order to give her mother a small pout.
Esme rolled her eyes fondly at her daughter, gracefully walking across the room to sit beside her.
"Angel, you know that you start school next week, don't you think it would be better to have everything settled in by then?"
"I will have everything settled in by then, mom, but I have the rest of this week to do it." Angel whined, laying her head on Esme's shoulder. The older lady giggled in response and gently ran a hand through Angel's dark brown hair which fell 2 inches below her shoulders.
"Still a procrastinator even after being turned, Angel?" Emmett's deep voice made's its way to her ears and Angel lifted her head off of Esme's shoulder to see her three brothers entering the living room.
"I didn't know vampirism cured procrastination." She replied, a small grin on her lips.
"In due time it will." Edward piped in, leaning against one of the far walls. Angel rolled her eyes as she stood up.
"I don't think anything can really make me stop procrastinating. Getting things done last minute is just my thing, let me roll with it."
She flashed them all a smile as she made her way over to the stairs to head up to her room. Once she had disappeared from their view, Emmett nudged Jasper with his shoulder, a teasing tone in his voice.
"She has a thing?"
"Shut up, Emmett!"
♡♡♡
Angel sighed as she zipped up another empty suitcase, putting it away in the back of her closet. It was Friday, three days since she and her family had first arrived at Forks. Everday since then, Esme and Carlisle had been nagging her to unpack and each time she told them she would do it. Well she finally got around to it today, at three in the morning.
Angel's procrastination has always been something of a problem for her. At least it was in her human years. When she was turned, she didn't think procrastinating would be so bad since she had more than enough time to do things. Until she remembered that deadlines were still a thing.
Well at least I don't have to sleep.
Angel threw herself onto her queen sized bed, shoving her face into the pink satin sheets that covered it. Although her body no longer required sleep, she still wanted to have a bed in her room. Couches were too uncomfortable to be laying on all the time.
She wondered how the rest of her family members could do it. How they found a way to keep themselves entertained for so long. While humans were resting, they were still very much alert. Never having to sleep means having an endless amount of time to do whatever you want. Until the next day of course. Angel didn't know what she would do with so much time on her hands. She was still so new to this vampire thing.
Maybe she could finally start picking up on some new hobbies. Or when she starts school on Monday actually start doing her homework on time and studying.
Pfft, yeah when Edward finally gets a girlfriend.
"I heard that!"
Angel laughed softly to herself as she heard her older brother's voice ring throughout their quiet house, already knowing that there was probably a scowl on his face.
She flipped over so that she was laying on her back, hugging a Sailor Moon themed pillow close to her chest. She was starting at a new school as a freshman in less than two days. Her first year of high school.
The first of many.
