Her throat clenched and burned as she tried to resist the urge to rip apart every human she rushed past. Angel has never felt something like this in her short time as an immortal being. Not even the first time she woke up as a newborn could compare to the thirst building up in her venom-coated throat.
She was holding her breath as best as she could when she made eye contact with Edward who was leaning against the lockers, talking to an auburn-haired girl whose face she couldn't see. He immediately stood up straight and she saw him mumble some type of farewell before stalking up next to her. His hand gripped onto her forearm tightly as he read her thoughts, seeing the events that had previously transpired.
He pulled her along out of the school faster as the thoughts turned gruesome and more violent. A couple of students stared at them in confusion as they made their way over to the parking lot while everyone else made their way to class.
"Get in the car. Hurry," Edward ordered as he wasted no time getting into the driver's side. Angel quickly got in the passenger seat, shutting the door and taking large, unnecessary breaths.
Edward was already speeding down the road by the time her eyes were open and she realized just how tightly she was gripping onto the black leather seats.
"I told them you weren't ready," Edward mumbled, shaking his head as he stared at her in concern.
Angel immediately shook her head as she tried to get bearings. The burning was dying down now, but she could still feel it there.
"I am..ready." She croaked out.
"There was just a complication. I didn't expect--." She shuts her eyes tightly as she tries not to think about the adorable boy who had sat next to her in first period. She knew if she did, the unbearable thirst would return.
"You should've expected everything, Angel!" Edward's voice raised a bit as his own grip on the steering wheel tightened, his knuckles pushing against his cold, hard skin.
Angel scoffed in disbelief as her eyes flashed open in anger.
"How can you expect me to expect something like that! None of you ever warned me about a thirst this strong!"
Edward abruptly stopped the car in front of their residence, his face now turned away from his baby sister. Angel continued to glare at him heatedly, waiting for some type of response.
"Let's take you feeding before Esme sees you this way." He said after a while, speeding out of the car and into the woods. Angel scoffed once more before quickly following after him. She knew she would never be able to catch up to him, but being a few feet behind him wasn't too bad for her.
As she hunted and Edward merely watched, Angel's mind wouldn't allow her to stop thinking about him. The stranger who nearly made her lose her humanity. But just the sight of his face pained her to no end, so she forced herself to think about the conversation that would take place once her entire family was gathered in one place.
This too made her flawless face twist in a grimace. While she didn't believe she would be reprimanded, considering she hadn't done anything, she knew that the matter of her attending Forks High School would be up in the air. She could somewhat guess who would be on what side and she let this thought annoy Edward as they made their way back to their home.
'Payback for being an asshole.'

A sigh escaped her nose as she stared up at her parental figures, her large golden eyes filled with worry. She really didn't want to be homeschooled. She wanted to experience high school! How was she ever going to learn to be around humans if she's not allowed to be around humans?
"What happened?" Carlisle questioned his voice the epitome of patience and concern.
Angel took in a long, unnecessary breath.
"It was a boy. He came in and sat down next to me--"
"What was his name?" Carlisle interrupted.
"Isaac Uley." Angel's eyebrows furrowed as she looked down, shocked at the fact she managed to remember the boy's name.
"Uley. Is he related to Sam?" Edward asked from his place leaning against the stairs.
"Possibly," Carlisle responded, turning back to Angel who fiddled with her fingers.
She looked back up at him when she felt his gaze.
"It...was a mistake." She breathed out.
"I wasn't prepared, but-but I promise I'll be ready next time! I'll switch out of the class, I'll stay away from him."
Carlisle stared at her and sighed before turning to the rest of the family members.
"Well?"
Emmett grinned as he messed with the leather bracelet around his wrist which held the Cullen family crest.
"She's stronger than most of us and stubborn as hell. If Angel says she'll stay away from him, I believe her."
"Me too!" Alice piped in, a knowing smile on her face.
Angel's nose scrunched up at her expression.
'What has this weirdo seen?'
After the rest of the members chipped in their opinions, a decision was made.
"You'll be able to go to school, Angel. But maybe you should stay home for a few days, clear your head and prepare yourself for when you do go back." Carlisle clasped his hands together as he sat down on the edge of the wooden coffee table.
Angel nodded her head immediately, leaning forward slightly.
"I will! Thank you, daddy!" She launched herself forward and hugged him tightly, her arms wrapped around his neck.
Carlisle chuckled beside her ear as he hugged her back gently.
"Thank your brothers and sisters. Without their testimonies, I'm not sure I would've agreed."
The two pulled away and Angel turned towards her siblings, scrunching up her face.
"Thanks, I guess. You're all still losers!" She stuck her tongue out at them playfully before she was speeding off to her room. She could practically hear them all rolling their eyes at her remark which caused her to laugh quietly to herself.
She threw herself onto her bed, burying her face in the sheets. Without school, these next few days were going to be very long.
