Max POV

I sprinted out of my house, duffle bag in hand. I took a shaky breath as I ran. I'm really doing this, I thought to myself, I'm actually running away! That house was way too nerve-racking for me. Our home used to be your average home with your average family of 7. When my oldest brother, Josh, left after he had graduated from high school, it all went downhill. Josh was always really protective of me and my siblings, and I had already known that my parents hated me. I was only three when he left, but I just knew. Now, I have no place to call home. I wasn't sure about what emotion I was feeling at that moment. I was ecstatic. I was outraged. I was depressed. Most importantly, I was scared. All I wanted to do was walk into the Guitar Center by my house, and see my brother there, waiting for me. I remembered those days. Everyday after school, Abby would take me to go see Josh at work. He worked at Guitar Center for a few years. This happened until I was seven, when he joined Twenty One Pilots. Not that I have anything against his band or the other guy in it. I'm actually quite good friends with his band mate, Tyler. He was a really nice guy, and he actually cared about me. I really wanted to see them both. I dashed down the block to my favorite local diner. As I stormed in, I blinked back tears that attempted to flow. I ran up to the bar and took a seat. Grace, the 25 year old that works there and my best friend, ran up to me.

"What's up? Everything okay?" She asked.

"I can't live at my house anymore. I just can't do it."

"What happened?" She asked, leaning and resting her head on her hand. I loved having someone that always listened to what I had to say.

"Okay. So you know how Josh and Tyler are on tour right now, right? So, they're performing here in Ohio, so Josh FaceTimed us before they started heading back home for the show. They won't be back until I believe tomorrow afternoon. So, each of us got our own time with Josh. And I guess I was talking to him for too long because all of a sudden Dad runs into my room and starts screaming at me. He calls me a 'faggot' and 'an emo whore' and 'not good enough' and he told me to go cut myself. Which you already know I do cut myself! Josh stayed online the whole time which really helped because he actually started yelling at Dad. And later that day, I get blamed for breaking a picture frame, which my mother actually broke. Then she fucking threw it at me! It scraped my arm up when I was blocking my face." I rolled up my sleeve, showing the cuts the border of the picture frame had left on my arm, "AND MY DAD HAD THE NERVE TO PUNCH ME!" I pointed to my black eye.

"Ouch! That must've hurt! That's not right. They can get into some serious trouble for this. Do you want me to call the authorities for you?" She asked, clearly concerned about my situation.

"No thanks. I'd probably be sent to some orphanage. I can't handle that. But thank you for asking!" I replied, gratefully.

"Anytime! Hey! I have an idea! You already know how I've known Tyler since 5th grade. I have his number right here so I'll text Tyler and ask if it's an okay time to FaceTime. Maybe you can stay with them until they finish the tour!"

"Great idea! And I'm already getting my education online, so I can just continue on the bus."

"My shift is over in like 5 minutes. You can stay over at my house tonight if you'd like to." She offered, as she wiped off the table. I smiled at this. Whenever I stayed at her house, we had epic sleepovers. We'd play a bunch of video games, do karaoke, stuff like that.

"I'd love to!" I chirped as I attacked her with a tight hug, "Thank you so much!"

Tyler POV

Me and Josh were just playing some video games when my phone went off. It was Grace. One of my good friends from childhood.
