'I am in contact with my child's father and he doesn't know she exists.'

This is the only thought that entered my mind from the time I arrived at my flat, Karen in tow, along with a cold coffee and my purse.

"Mommy, I played with Seth today! We played with cars!" Karen said, running around with all the energy in the world.

"Hun, that's great! Do you want some hot dogs? Come on, let's eat," I said, guiding the little girl to our small kitchen and putting on some food.
Now that Dan was in my life, would I have to tell him? Could I really keep her a secret?

It wouldn't really be that difficult, as long as I kept our relationship strictly professional. However, Dan isn't the type to simply put someone off as a simple co-worker; he is just took friendly for that.
Anyways, I'm sure Karen would be mad at ME if she grew up with a father she never knew about, who I kept in touch with as a friend. It just would be right.
So, I will have to tell him. Eventually. Imagine if I walked up to him, and just informed him that he was a father? It would be cruel.

"Mommy, hot dogs!" I heard Karen say, snapping me back to reality. I looked to the stove to see the pot of water containing the meat nearly boiling over.

I gasped, "shit!" I grabbed a towel and wiped up the mess. Pulling out a plate, I carefully set two hot dogs on it and cut them up, adding some apple sauce onto the side.

I watched as Karen devoured it, and continued to debate on the subject occupying my head.

He will be the end of me.
