jimin had planned to go to bed after yoongi had texted her, but every time she tried to close her eyes to sleep, she felt even that much more awake. she was too nervous and excited to sleep. her body just couldn't calm down enough for her to sleep, so she decided to wait for her mother to get home.

she sat on the couch, watching reruns of some crime show that she had already seen a millions times before. she would check her social media or play a game when the television was playing a commercial.

it was almost two in the morning by the time her mother walked through the door. jimin grinned and met her at the door, wrapping her arms around her tightly. her mother was surprised at first, but soon returned the embrace.

"how is my beautiful daughter?" mrs park asked, holding jimin's face delicately in her hands. "i'm okay, mommy," jimin replied with a small smile. "i'm glad to hear that." mrs park gently kissed her daughter's forehead.

as mrs park was changing out of her work clothes and into comfortable pajamas, jimin was in the kitchen making them both a cup of tea. she figured that she could talk to her mother a bit before they both went to bed.

when her mom returned to the living room, jimin carefully handed her a cup of tea, warning her that it was hot. the two of them then sat down on the couch, their cups of tea in their hands.

"so what has been going on recently with you? anything new or fun?" mrs park questioned, taking a sip of her drink. she always felt bad because she wasn't around and in her daughter's life as much as she wanted to be.

jimin blushed and set her tea down on the coffee table. "yes, actually. so this guy on instagram randomly messaged me one day. we've been talking everyday since then. it turns out that he's good friends with namjoon. we're actually meeting up tomorrow to hang out."

mrs park's eyes widened a fraction and she also set her tea down, grabbing her daughter's hands. "jimin, honey, that's great. is he a nice boy?" giggling, jimin nodded. "he's really nice and he's super duper cute, mom." "you have to show me a picture now!" her mom exclaimed, smiling brightly.

"okay okay," jimin agreed, going to her messages and showing her mother the photo he had sent her recently. "isn't he just breathtaking, mommy?" mrs park held the girl's phone in her hand, her eyes scanning over the blonde boy's face. "he's very handsome, jiminie."

after a few minutes of questions from her mother concerning yoongi, jimin finally confessed to her how nervous and excited she was to see the boy. "i'm just worried that he isn't gonna like me, mom. what am i gonna do then?"

mrs park put an arm around jimin and pulled her to her side. "darling, i'm sure he's going to love you. and if he doesn't, then he isn't the right person for you and you'll have to let him go." jimin quietly listened to her mother's advice, her head on her shoulder, nodding to acknowledge that she was listening. "you're right... thanks, mom."

"you don't have to thank me, baby. i should be the one thanking you. you've been so understanding of me working late. i couldn't ask for a better daughter." as she spoke, she combed her fingers through jimin's short, orange hair. "i'm going to stop staying late at the office. i want to be home to see you more. i miss you." jimin leaned her head up and pressed a kiss to her mother's cheek. "i love you, mom." "i love you too, jiminie."

mrs park continued to comb her fingers through jimin's hair, humming a soft song as she did so. it didn't take long until the girl fell asleep in her arms. the woman smiled and kissed the sleeping girl's hair before closing her eyes.
