Do you know how it feels?
To know that one day, no matter what,
It's all just gonna be reset?
Now.. going to the surface just doesn't appeal..
Because even if we do get there..
We'll just end up right back where we were, with no memory of any of it ever happening.
Sans struggled to fall asleep once again, as he could only here the voices of past timelines in his head. He gave a growl as he stood and walked over to a mirror. In the mirror, he saw a smiling skeleton, even when he furrowed his brows, he still had that boney grin. He sighed before returning to his bed.
"Wonder how that human is doing..." He thought aloud as he looked at a "family" portrait of him and all his friends. "It's funny... seems like she's the only one I could never figure out.. seems like-"
PAPYRUS?? PAPYRUS?!
Sans gasped as he fell to the floor. "N-no... no no..."
"Wow... that's not what I expected..." Papyrus said as he fell to the ground. "But I still believe... that... that you can do better..."
Sans felt himself shaking.
"Ergh... maybe y-" CRACK!!!
Sans fell to the ground, shaking violently. In his last life, the time before the last reset, he had watched as all of his friends were killed off one by one. Luckily for him though, his own death made the human feel guilty enough to reset once more, thus giving birth to the current timeline. However, Sans hadn't forgotten how relentless the human could be if they wanted to.
The human had so much power. They could revive, reset time, even change their name.
Their determination would always outweigh Sans' own power. But, this truth only fueled Sans' rage. And through his rage, he becomes stronger. The next time "Frisk" or "Chara" or whatever their name is decides they want to kill again, he'll be ready...
...
"Asriel! Come on! Hurry up!"
Asriel huffed as he ran across the beach in his swim trunks, over to his friends Undyne, Alphys, Frisk, and Papyrus. "I'm n-not as f-fast... as you guys!" He huffed as he fell to the ground next to the group. Alphys d'awwwed and Undyne and Payrus chuckled, as Frisk snickered at the small goat child.
"Aw come on Azzy, you're here now, get up."
"No.."
"Come on, Azzy~"
"No."
Frisk sighed and rolled her eyes at him, before smirking at Undyne. "Throw him in the water!"
Suddenly Asriel gasped. "W-what?! N-AHHHHHHH!!"
Undyne hadn't waited to hear out his plea, and simply tossed him into the water. Asriel soon floated back to the top, and spat out a small stream of liquid as he furrowed his brows.
The group began to laugh hysterically, pointing at the wet goat-child and snickering at him. Frisk gave an apologetic look as he came back ashore, patting him on the head. "No hard feelings? Asriel?"
Azzy huffed, and then sighed, before hugging Frisk. "No hard feelings~"
"Uhh.. are you hugging me cuz we're friends? Or because you're covered in salty water?"
"Whyy can't it be both?" He asked sarcastically as he rubbed himself all over her.
"Ahh!" She released and the two fell to the sand laughing.
Just then, Sans arrived, and he walked over to the group, stopping near Papyrus. "Heya guys. What'd I miss?"
"OH GOOD! BROTHER, FRISK AND ASRIEL WERE SHARING A MOMENT! ISN'T THAT WOBDERFUL??"
"Sure it is, Papy..." He muttered as he watched them play. "Just peachy."
...
At sunset, the group began to walk back to their car. Sans stayed in the back, near Frisk as they came closer to their vehicle. Frisk smiled up at the skeleton, but he didn't smile back. This made Frisk feel nervous...
Once they were in the car, Alphys began to drive them home, but as Frisk looked around, she noticed everything was beginning to slow down, until soon everything froze.
At first, it seemed she was the only one able to move about, but when she turned, she saw Sans, staring at her. "Heya kid. What's up? You look chilled to the bone." He muttered as his face still held it's permanent smile.
She gulped and scratched the back of her neck. "Uh, h-hey Sans... what's up with the freeze? Something important to tell me? Like last time?"
"Nono... I think you have something important to tell me, Frisk." He spat, with venom.
She looked down. "I-i don't know what you're t-talking abou-"
"Then why are you stuttering?" He asked suddenly.
"I-i-i-i...." Frisk began to tear up, the guilt of what she knew he knew she had done starting to be too much for her to bare.
Immediately, Sans' expression faltered and he sighed. "..just...tell me why..."
Frisk sniffled and sat back, trying to calm down. "I........... it wasn't my f-fault..."
He cocked his head. "How so?"
"T-there's a girl... a spirit of a fallen human..."
Sans now stood intrigued, curious of where Frisk was going with the story. He had remembered the first fallen human.
She was a bit of a perky oddball... but the prince loved her. However, she couldn't be the one who forced Frisk to commit those horrid crimes, could she? Through all of this though, Sans had trouble remembering their name... what was it?
"Her name was Chara." Frisk finally spoke.
Sans' eye began to slowly glow.
Yeah... that's it.
