New Year's

New Year's Eve is finally here!

On this special night, you would rather spend it by

A) being alone

B) being with someone

because a night like this is something

A) important to you.

B) unimportant to you.

Another year has ended while another year approaches. That is another three hundred sixty-five days to go, but another three hundred sixty-five days to be proud of living through. However, way you spend it, all that matters the most is that there is happiness and satisfaction involved.

Toru

From the end of a row of four sitting guys, a sigh can barely be heard as it just blends in with the rest of the commotion happening at the reserved table of the fancy restaurant. As that happens, the same flashback from the night before comes to mind of the idol's.

He remembers it very clearly. Last night he was hanging out with a few friends. A gathering for the end of the year and a new year to come. It was such a good time especially when they decided to have a bit of fun to place a bet here and there. To decide for each other what should be accomplished for the upcoming year. When it came to Toru, his friends all agreed that he should start dating again, but knowing him they also bet that he wouldn't. Toru doesn't like being underestimated so, in the end, he decided to go with it, even accepting a dare...Oh, what a mistake the idol made now that he's in a position itching to get out of.

From the other end of a row but across from where the guys are sitting, another sigh can barely be heard as it also just blends in with the rest of the commotion in the room. A sigh escaped from your dry mouth that impatiently waits for the drinks and food; the only reason why you came and why you are still here. As for you, you didn't want to be here either especially on what is supposed to be a special night. You already agreed with going to this blind date and you definitely can't let your [mother/aunt/sister/cousin/friend] down.

Soon drinks and delicious, tasteful food began to be served at the full table which didn't cause the chattering to stop at all whatsoever except for you and one other person at the table that you still haven't noticed yet. Neither did he notice you.

After eating and even getting dessert, it was time to continue on with the blind date and that started off with picking a partner to be with throughout the rest of the night. By the time everyone was done eating and was ready to do so, it was obvious by now who was going to be with who and that left the only ones that were standing behind their pushed in chair at the now empty table. After a few moments of watching everyone walk out with their future permanent significant other beside them, you and Toru suddenly lock eyes. To get the night over with, you end up walking over to Toru first to show your respects and greet him.

"My name is [Y/N]. What was yours again?"

"Toru Yamashita. Just call me Toru."

"Nice to meet you," you say as you bow.

"Same here," he says and bows in return.

Walking along the streets of [City/N] from every corner the city bustled with people of families and couples. Lifting your head, different colors of blinking lights can also be seen which easily reflected from the beads of your eyes, making them glow in delight.

It took you some time, but you eventually noticed the few glances coming from the tall man walking beside you. Realizing he got caught, he started to speak.
