Sans and Chara sat at the Nice Cream table, nibbling their ice cream silently.
"Chara, is there anything that's been bothering you?" Sans got straight to the point. No more half replies and ignoring.
"No. School's been hard though." Chara said, knowing what he's doing. They knew that he was trying to get the truth out of them, so they swerved the subject.
"Mmmm." Sans replied.
They made small talk, about school and the PTA.

"This is our spot." A boy about Chara's age said. He crossed his arms and waited for the two to move.
Uh oh, Sans thought.
"There are about nine more booths that are empty right now." Sans said. "Maybe you should go to one of those."
The boy rolled his eyes, ignoring him. "Chara, can you tell your friend to move to one of those booths?"
"I'm fine, thank you." Chara replied casually.
"What's taking so long?" The boy's friends said.
"The girl and monster won't get out of our spot."
   "I'm not a girl, I'm not a boy, I don't have a gender." Chara said heatedly.
"Ah, okay. I'll call you a him from now on."
Chara lost it. They used their magic to slam the boy into a wall.
"Chara." Sans said sternly. He stood up and held their arm back.
The boy got up. "I see how it is, freak."
Chara released their arm from Sans' grasp.
The boy rushed at them, and they quickly dodged. With a wave of their arm, the boy went flying.
"That's enough playing!" Sans yelled, as he used his magic to slam Chara down, and the boy to sit up. He looked over, and one of the boy's friends ended the film. They were filmed the whole time.
"GO GO GO!" The boy yelled, and they all ran.
We're in deep shit, Sans thought.

Toriel watched the bars slide aside. Her guilty husband sat there in handcuffs, along with her child, who couldn't care less about the damage.
   "Tori, I-"
   "Save it, Sans."
Toriel grabbed Chara's arm, and Sans walked next to her. They all climbed into the car, and she slammed the door.
She drove home, making sharp turns and hard brakes.
"Mom." Chara said. "I'm sorry." They were ignored.
Toriel's paws fumbled with the keys. When they were inside, She turned to them.
"Guys, tomorrow's Christmas Eve. I actually believed that you two would get along, but in just a few moments, I find both of you behind bars." Toriel sounded tired. She had dark spots under her eyes and her posture sagged. It was like she had to have an effort to stay strong and awake.
"Go to your room, Chara. No magic in the house. Sans, I need to talk to you."
She sat with Sans at the dining table, at opposite sides.
"I need you to be the grown up here. You have to know when it's time to stop."
"Toriel, you don't know what happened. It wasn't me."
He explained how Chara snapped and used their powers.
Toriel shook her head. "And you didn't do anything about that?"
She was right. He couldn't be nice anymore if it affected the family.

Frisk and Asriel listened by the doorway. They had no idea Chara was capable of doing harm without wearing themselves out. Asriel pulled Frisk's sleeve.
"Let's not worry about that. It's Chara, they've  always been like that when they lived with me. Always going off alone and sometimes snapping. It was their own thing. The best we can do is wait until they wear off."
Chara meant a lot to Frisk. Ever since they separated, they've been like a big sister to them.
   They went off to play.

This was a short chapter, But I'm lazy. On Christmas, there's gonna be an update, so stay tuned!
