To review the story, review the little annoying things that bug me or to simply review. From Ann Michaels come a little whodunit from Australia. Somebody billed it as one that could be read in a day. They are right, I started in the afternoon and it took me to gone my wife's bedtime for me to finish the book.

What you will notice straight away

One of the first things that came to bug me was the number of paragraphs that started with "I." "I did", "I sat", "I started" come at you in quick bursts with occasional misfires.

Review

Harry de Groot and Dane Roberts are the police but this story is told from each person's point of view alternatively.

Characters

The detectives: Harry de Groot and Dane Roberts.

The missing:

Tabra Hayden; Lee Lin; June Roze.

The suspects:

Peter Ruslan, his mother Kristina, his father Philip; Liam and others.

Story

Its 1988, plainclothes policewoman Dana Roberts has gone undercover. In a job where men rule the world, it is rare to find women. Female detectives are as unexpected as a possum playing ice hockey. Dana Roberts is undercover as Sally Brown. She and her partner are targeting millionaire Peter Ruslan. In a tale that has drugs tied in with Russian mafia money time is running out when the Ruslan empire starts to topple.

Conclusion.

Despite the different points of view which threw me at the beginning I got used to hem. It's not a bad tale, suitable for all members of the family. I wasn't reading for the final chapter and I wonder if it was really required. The story is strong enough without it.

So is it a good read?

Yes, it is. I left it to mill around in my head before I wrote about it the review.

4 out of 5 stars.
