Frankie
I put the magazines that have my ads in them away. Dylan says that it will be something we can show our grandkids. They started showing up on billboards and in magazines about a week after I got the check. They used two of the pictures that Cameron took of me.
In one, Amy and I are twirling around and he catches us right when we are in front of him. Both of our hair is swirling around our faces and we're both laughing.
The second one is of me by myself right when we finished twirling, my hair has settled on one side of my body, and hanging down past my waist. I have a carefree smile on my face. I remember the moment, because I was looking at Dylan when I finished twirling. My eyes actually have a twinkle in them. I didn't know my eyes could twinkle. I grudgingly admit that I like them. I'm also proud to be on those posters.
School starts next week and although everyone took classes with me this summer, I have one class with Rand and that's it. The guys are upset about this, as am I. I put up a brave front, but I don't want to have any classes alone. I like it when they are in class with me. They make arrangements to meet me after every class. That comforts me a little.
Dylan says that we have to start looking for houses so we can move. We're looking for houses that are close together for when Ronnie and Amy move down here. We came up with a tentative plan to get her out of their parents clutches, but they don't know if it will work. Everyone is determined to get her down here one way or another.
Amy's birthday is this Saturday and the grandparents want her there for the celebration. The guys tell me that we aren't going down there until we have to go. We'll go down for Cameron's brother's wedding in October and in December for Ronnie's graduation. They will come down next weekend and we'll celebrate it then.
We spend the rest of the week relaxing and getting ready for school. On Saturday, we shop for Amy and then call her to wish her a happy birthday. When she asked why we weren't there, we tell her that I had to work. We promise her that she can come down next weekend and we'll have a birthday party for her.
Classes start and Rand walks me to my first class, "Dylan will be out here when you get back, okay?"
I nod, "It's going to feel weird being in a class by myself. I'll be fine."
He tucks my hair behind my ear and kisses me on the forehead, "You'll be fine. I'll see you later."
"See ya," I give him a small wave and walk inside of my class, taking a seat in the front row to the left of the teacher. I look around and as the class starts to fill, I recognize a few people from some of our other classes.
One of the girls that has been in a couple of my classes sits beside me, "Hi."
"Hi," I respond.
"I saw you here alone and thought I might join you. My name is Rian." She sticks her hand out.
"I'm Frankie," I reach over and shake her hand.
"I've seen you in a few of my other classes with that guy. Where is he?" She gets right to the point.
"He has different classes this semester," I lean back in my seat.
"Hm. Well we can be partners if needed in this class. What are your other classes?" She pulls out her schedule. I pull out mine and we find that we have another class together. I'm kind of comforted by that.
The teacher comes in and starts. So we don't speak for the rest of class.
When class was over, she asks me if I want to go to lunch. I refuse, because Dylan is outside waiting for me and I don't really know her well enough yet. She glances at Dylan as he walks up to us and then back to me, "How many boyfriends do you have?" I smile and don't answer.
