Jeff looked around. His surroundings had changed. He wasn't in Slenderman's treehouse anymore. At least it did not look like it. Everything was white, almost painfull for the eyes. The only thing Jeff saw was a black spot in front of him, far far away. He tried to find out what it was but he could not move. His body was like made of stone, heavy and not movable. It took the young man a while to realise that the spot was moving towards him. But in that moment when Jeff begand to see who or what it was his body suddenly turned around on its own. The teenage boy tried everything to move, he used every single muscle in his body but none would do as told. His body just stared in the white while that thing behind him came closer and closer. Jeff was about to scream in anger and confusion when a voice started talking behind him.
"Are you alright?" the voice asked.
Jeff could not answer. He opened his mouth but nothing came out of it.
"I'm with you."
Jeff just listened. He tried to find out who it was but he was not able to control his body.
"Calm down."
Jeff looked down.
"I will always stay with you for as long as you want me to."
The boy felt terrible for not knowing who that person was that said such relaxing words. Jeff would have cried if he could.
"I will protect you."
Jeff bit his lip.
"You are not alone anymore."
The boy felt a warm, big hand on his left shoulder.
"I love you."
That was it. Jeff bursted out into tears. He looked up when he realised that him crying was impossible. How was he able to cry without any eyelids?
He asked himself the same question in his mind when suddenly the whiteness in front of him changed and became a... bathroom?
"Why a bathroom?" Jeff asked, shocked by the sudden sound of his own voice. He stared in the mirror in front of his face. His NORMAL face. He somehow changed back to who he was before he decided to be a criminal. Before the fight at that neighbour's house.
That's when he remembered this bathroom. It was the bathroom in his old house, his parent's house!
The young man shrug when he felt the warm hand on his shoulder again. He stared into the mirror only to see a black and tall figure behind him. He would have been scared if he wasn't used to the darkness.
"You will be alright. I promise." a different voice said.
"Who are you?" Jeff asked, still not able to turn around somehow.
"I promise."
"Tell me please!" the young man begged.
"You are home now." the voice whispered in his ear.
A tear fell down from Jeff's face. He was not sure how to react.
"But what about Slenderman? He was kind to me..."
"Stay home this time."
Jeff felt anger building up in his stomach. Why does this shadow not answer his damn questions?
"No! Where is Slender?"
"You are safe here."
The shadow touched the mirror and some people appeared in front of Jeff as if he would be looking through a window. Those people were his family, his mother, father and brother. The looked happy and waved to Jeff.
"They love you." the shadow said.
Jeff cried again. He was happy to see them alive and happy, not killed by his own hands. Everything seemed back to normal. But still...
"Tell me where is Slenderman? Please tell me!" Jeff cried. He touched the mirror to be closer to his family, to feel their love which would cheer him up as always. But they dissappeared as soon as he touched it.
"Family is important." the shadow answered with a dry voice.
"Fuck you!! They are dead!! I killed them myself!!" Jeff yelled.
"Why Slenderman?" the voice asked.
Jeff stopped for a moment. Why does he want to know about Slender? Why does he prefer to stay with a stranger than live with his family and friends?
"I.. Well..." Jeff stuttered, not sure what to respond.
"Do you like him? Or are you just naive enough to see something good in a monster like him?
"He is no monster!!!" Jeff yelled. He now knows why he likes Slender even more than his family.
"He is kind to me! Even when I am like this! Everyone calls me a monster but he likes me! He is helping me! I..." Jeff swallowed and touched his chest.
"Yes?"
"I... just like him, okay?" Jeff hissed. He was not sure who this lie would hurt more, Slender or himself.
"I don't believe he feels the same way."
"What do you know?" Jeff murmured in anger. He wanted to punch that guy so hard, does not matter who he or she is.
The shadow did not say anything. Then Jeff suddenly felt like someone threw a heavy book in his face. He pressed his hands against his hurting forehead when he realised that his hands were white again. There were no tears in his eyes either. The boy looked up to look at him in the mirror but it was gone. Everything was white again and he was back himself.
"You made your choice." the voice said and dissappeard.
Jeff wanted say something, wanted to order the shadow to stay but he was not able to speak. His voice was gone again.
The white around him slowely got darker and darker. Strange figures build up in front of him and a soft voice spoke to Jeff.
"... -eff? Je-, ca- you hear m-?"
The voice became louder and louder. Jeff soon found himself lying in a bed, a person was bending over him. A pale, faceless person.
"Jeff? Are you alright?" the person said, definitely worried.
"Slender...?" Jeff asked with a weak voice. His head hurts and his body felt weird.
"Oh Jeff, I'm so glad you can talk again! You had a high fever and I was not sure if you are going to make it... But you seem to be okay now, I'm relieved. I gave you some medicine my brother gave me. It saved you!"
Slender hugged Jeff as if he would have gone missing for months. Jeff smiled and hugged the faceless man back.
"It was weird, indeed." Jeff laughed. "But I'm fine now that I'm with you."
Slender looked at Jeff. A slight blush appeared on his pale face.
