Chapter Fifteen: A Family.

Parker's POV: After

"What do you possibly have to show me at your house? I've been there a million times before and highly doubt anything has changed since we left a few hours ago." I asked Jessica. She just smiled in return and kept walking, my wrist still in her grasp.

"I need to grab something from my room, I also need to get Elliot because he is going to come with us. And while I do that, you need to get a car, we're driving somewhere." Jessica explained. This definitely reminded me of the Jessica that I left behind a year ago, I missed her adventurousness and her determination.

"So you expect me just to drive you somewhere yet you won't tell where we're going. How do I know that you won't murder me in the woods?" I dramatically whined. Jessica just shook her head at my statement.

"Really Parker? How much more cliche could you get?" Jessica asked quizzically. I smiled in return, this was exactly how it used to be. We continued on walking towards Jessica's house and when we got there everything continued going on smoothly, until Daniel walked by the front door to see both Jessica, Elliot, and I on our way out.

"Where are you guys headed?" Daniel immediately asked very suspiciously. I went to answer but was interrupted by Jessica.

"We are heading to the grocery store, I wanted to make something for dinner tonight and Parker offered to drive me. I thought it would be nice if Elliot came along too." That was definitely a way better excuse than what I would have said and Daniel looked to calm down soon after.

"Okay, have fun... I guess." With that Daniel continued to head upstairs. It looked like Jessica and I were off the hook, I think.

"That was weird..." I whispered into Jessica's ear. She turned around and hit my chest in one fast motion.

"You scared me!" She shrieked causing me to laugh loudly. I then grabbed Elliot's car seat and started to walk out the door.

"You better hurry otherwise I'll leave you here so that Eli and I can spend some time together." I called over my shoulder to Jess. I could hear her laughing from behind me as I put Elliot's car seat into the back of Jessica's car. When I looked down at him though, something in me changed. He looks like me...

"Why would we leave the park by your house to come here, seriously how does the lacrosse field have anything to do with what you wanted to show me?" I asked Jessica as she started to get Elliot out of the car.

"Well, I think that maybe here would be a better place for us to talk. Nobody comes here in the summer unless it's dark out and I think we should get to know each other better. So, I'm taking you to the place that I first really saw you." Jess explained as she cradled Elliot close to her chest.

"What do you mean? We knew each other for years before Daniel and I started playing lacrosse." I questioned.

"Okay, let me try to explain this." Jessica started off as we both walked to the bleaches that surrounded the field and sat down right beside each other. "It wasn't until middle school that I actually admitted to myself that I liked you and once I did that, then you began to date other girls, a lot of other girls. And I doubted any chance that I thought that I had.

Anyways, it was the same week of the very first lacrosse game that I attended that you finally dumped the girl you had been seeing your entire freshman year and that made me very happy. When the game finally came around, you offered for me to wear your jersey and when you made the winning shot you looked into the bleachers and I swear that you looked right at me as I cheered along with the crowd. That's why I brought you here, this is the same place that I finally saw you as more than just an infatuation and this is the place that I felt that I should stop this before it gets too far.

I hate that we have both been tiptoeing around what we both need to say and before you stop me, just hear me out. I think that it would be best if we just forget about what happened with us last year." Jessica finished.

"No." I told her without even processing everything Jess had said. "No. You cannot tell me that I should just forget everything that has happened between us. You are the only thing that had kept me going for that past year since I left you at the airport. You are the person that I have loved since I was five years old. And I refuse for you to just throw us away after everything we have been through. I don't want to loose you or Elliot because even if you won't admit it, I know that Elliot is mine. He looks just like me and I want us to be a family, the three of us. And I want us to tell our families and I don't want to have a secret relationship because I do not think that I can go another day without shouting to the world that I love you." I practically pleaded on my knees as I waited to see Jessica's reaction to everything I just said.

"I can't Parker. I can't do that because you deserve so much more than to be stuck with a family that you didn't plan. You deserve to be happy and I think that you'd be happiest without me. I'm sorry but I just can't." Jessica told me.

"I'm not accepting that as an answer because you know that you make me happy, you and Elliot. And though we never planned for all of this to happen, I can't just leave you especially now that you've stopped lying about all of this to me, seriously did you really think I am that idiotic?" I laughed.

"I should have known I couldn't keep this a secret from you, that was a huge mistake." Jessica laughed.

"It was a bit stupid but that's besides the point... Jessica, will you please let us be a family now?" I asked with a grin on my face.

 "I would like that."
