My eyes quickly wandered from one place to another. The only thing that was moving was my eyes. I didn't move anything else; today didn't seem right. Max had left, I haven't talked, or even seen my Mom in about a week, and I am still in the same place Max left me in.

I left the intense thought I was in. I didn’t move, too many thoughts were rushing through my mind. What happened to my . . . mom? Why did Max leave? Why did he leave me here? If I were to be lost in thought too much, I would never leave. A horrid feeling started to fill my gut. Nothing moved, all was still, I couldn’t even hear anything. I shifted my feet. The bed was lumpy, considering it was the ground, and I always float through it.

Someone had been here. The air smelled like desperation, and . . . Max? “Hello. . . ?”

“Uh, Hi.” It wasn’t Max, the voice was too high to be a guy. A girl?

“Who are you?”

“I’m Lily, Lily Walker. It’s nice to meet another . . . girl.” She came out, her blonde hair swayed as she moved; she had denim jeans, but they were cut off to look like shorts. She had hazel/green eyes; but she had bruises all over her arms and legs.

“Hi, Lily. How did you get here?” I sat up, brushing off all of the dirt from my jeans, then brushed my hands together to get it off of my hands.

“Um, I was . . . murdered . . .?” She said it like a question. I cocked my head, trying to get a better look at her.

“How?” I turned my head right-side-up again; folding my arms, I waited for an answer to the question.

She didn’t answer.

Dead silence.

I heard sobs coming from her direction. My eyes wandered to her; eyes puffy, tears running down her peach cheeks. I started in her direction; I put my hand on her shoulder. She looked up and wiped the tears that were going down her face; she smiled.

“I drowned in a lake.” She murmured, her voice seemed so tense, and she had goose bumps running up and down her arms.

Lily told me about how she died; she was camping in Lake Tahoe, her and her friends were messing around and playing “Truth or Dare”. She said that one of her friends dared her to jump into the lake. When she jumped in, her whole body had frozen; she was . . . paralyzed in fear, and in pain.

“And that’s how I died, now, what about you?” She asked; we were sitting on the cold ground by then.

“I was killed in a car accident, not very exciting.” I said. My mind was overflowing with so many questions for her. Her blonde hair swayed back and forth as we walked down the walkway.

“Oh,” She seemed surprised by my answer. “How long ago?”

“About a week ago,” I said trying to calculate how many days it has been. “What about you, Lily?”

“Several years ago, but I’m very shy, so I don’t know as many people here; do you know this guy named . . . Max?”

I blinked several times. How did she know Max? “Yeah, how do you know him?”

“I, um, just know him.” She smiled a slight smile. I knew she was hiding something but I didn’t really care to ask.

“. . . Okay,” I didn’t know what else to say, ‘Okay’ was all I could get out.

I could hear footsteps coming our way; Lily’s eyes met mine and then we looked over to where we could hear the footsteps. I smiled, but Lily just looked at me with wondering eyes.

“Max! It’s you, where did you go?” I jumped from my dirt like seat and ran toward him. My hair flopped right behind me. I could hear the footsteps behind me, they were Lily’s.

I practically jumped into his arms, flinging my hair so I could see his face. “Uh, well, about that . . . I just had some unfinished business to do. So . . . um,”

“Yeah, whatever, it’s fine.” I smiled a slight smile, and ushered for Lily to come over.

“What is she doing here?” Max said, his eyes piercing with anger. I didn’t know what to say, didn’t he like Lily?

“Oh, um . . . Hi, Max.” I turned to Lily, who was obviously surprised by Max’s answer.

Nothing was said.

I couldn’t even hear a word from Max, who was clearly a talkative person.

“Hi Lily; why are you here? And I thought I told you to stay where I left you.” He didn’t put me down. “How did you even meet Alex?”

“I just did, Okay?!” She wasn’t pleased. “Gall, I’m not a baby!”

“Whatever,” Max muttered. “Now, Alex, are you alright?”

“Yeah, sure,” I hopped down, looking over my shoulder, Lily was walking away. “Why did you do that to Lily?”

“She’s my sister, I can’t let her get lost here,” Max said.

“Wait, What?!” My eyes were wide open. “She’s your . . .  sister?”

“Uh, yeah, didn’t you know that?” He looked down at me.

“No!” I rolled my eyes, trying to see if I could find Lily.

My legs started to run, I have to find her! I thought. My legs started to get weary, then I smiled, Lily was right there, in the bush she was in before I met her. My legs trembled and I fell. Her eyes were teary.

“Are you okay?” I patted her shoulder, then she wiped her tears.

“Yeah, so, you now know, huh?” She looked at me, probably trying not to cry.

“Yeah, why didn’t you tell me? It would’ve been fine,” I smiled a slight smiled, sat up, and helped her to get to her feet.

“Okay,” She sat up, and brushed off the dirt from her shorts.

“Now, let’s go and find Max.” I smiled, and we walked down the pathway to where Max was still seated.

Thanks everyone! :) I hope that pleased you! I finally updated!
