I run down the stairs with my YouTube a
backpack and see Jerome walk through the door. As he grabs his bag and headphones I jump on his back and wrap my legs around his waist.
"GO MY TRUSTY STEED!" I yell, pointing forward as he laughs. He grabs my legs and runs towards the car, grabbing the doorhandle he opens the door, and sits me down in the seat. He gets in on the other side and we start to drive to the airport to get to VidCon. It's about 30 minutes away, so I take out my phone and start playing around on it, when I suddenly get a text from Maddy.
"Get cho camera ready! In about six miles there is an awesome mountain view to film the start of a vlog on."
"Awesome! Thanks!"
I pull out my Nikon from my backpack and rest it on the window ledge to keep it and my hands steady. I get bored and decide to text Maddy.
"What's it like?"
no response. Great.
"HEEEELLOOOOO?"
whatever. I put my hands back on the camera again and wait for the road when I finally see it. I start recording as a winding road sends us upward to the top of a hill. You can see so much, and I take it in as much as I can.
We stop ascending and start doing in a straight line, when we start to hear sirens.
"Maddy are you ok? We're hearing sirens."
"Maddy?"
I call her.
No answer.
We come closer to the sound and see a white car tipped on it's side.
Mitch's car.
"Jerome...." I say grabbing his arm. He stops the car and I jump out, following him as he sprints towards the car.
"I'm sorry you are not allowed t-" A paramedic starts but Jerome interrupts him.
"We're they're best friends." The man pauses and gestures us to the ambulance, where Mitch is lying, dazed.
"Mitch, are you alright?" Jerome says looking down at him.
"where's-s ma-addy...." he slurs. His leg is cut and bandaged, and his chest is shakily moving up and down.
"I don't know buddy...."
I run out and see the paramedics taking a limp and extremely cut body out of the window. I run towards the paramedics and see her eyes slightly open.
"Maddy? Can you hear me?" I say, walking along side her.
"Sarrah....where's Mitch....." Her lip is cut so she has a lisp that is barely understandable.
"His leg is hurt, but he's wondering where you are." I say as we get closer to the ambulance. We get to it finally and she is put next to Mitch.
"Maddy....." Mitch grabs her hand weakly. She stays quiet and looks at Mitch. She tries to smile a bit. She starts to breath unsteadily and relaxes everything that was tense. She can barely leave her eyes open.
"Mitch, keep holding my hand....keep looking at me...I want your eyes to be the last thing I see........"
