Ava's POV:

"Ava! Hurry up honey! You don't want to be late for your first day at your new school!" I hear my mom yell from the bottom of the stairs as I'm still trying to figure out what to wear.

I scan my room, to see an outfit laying in plain sight. It was kinda cute I guess. But hey, who was I trying to impress on my first day?

I grab my backpack and start for the stairs when I was stopped by my cat, Piper.

"Sorry I'm leaving so early girl, but I've filled your bowl full of food..." because I'm not exactly sure when I'll be back. "Be a good girl for mama." I stroke her and walk down the steps.

"Sweetie you look so cute." My mom smiles at me.

"Thanks mom, can we go now?" I laugh in embarrassment.

"Of course" she starts for the door but stops. She turns around. "You wouldn't happen to know where my car keys are?" She says looking guilty as ever.

"I guess I'll be walking goodbye mom!" I walk out the door.

Okay I've got my list of things not to do on your first day of school and a few other papers.

As I'm too busy paying attention to the papers in my hand, I run into some guy. I fall to the ground and my papers go everywhere.

"Hey! You should really..." I start but I cut myself off as soon as I looked up. Wow he was gorgeous. Dirty Blonde scruffy hair and soft, sweet sensitive eyes.

"I should really what? Watch where I'm going? Yeah, tell that to yourself." He smirks. He starts for my papers scattered on the ground.

"Please don't touch those." I say.

"I'm just trying to help you." He replies. He stops picking up the papers and reaches for my hand. I assumed he was trying help me up, so I refused. "Thanks, but I'm fine." I say softly.

I start to pick up my papers.

"I'm Dylan." He said. I finish retrieving all my papers and look up.

"And you are?..." he trails off.

"What's it to ya?" I smirk at my snarky reply.

"I don't know maybe so I can report you to the police for how rude you are being to me." He smirks.

"Ha ha very funny. The names Ava, Ava Rose." I say.

"Ah I've never heard that name before in this neighborhood, are you new?" He asks.

"Uh yeah, I just moved here from Chicago." I reply.

"Mhmm" he says.

"Well it was nice chatting with you but I am unfortunately really late for school. Later." I say.

"Later." He trails off.
