The rain had cleared up later in the day the two of them decided to go to the skate park. Jack knew how to skate while Hiccup did not. Jack thought that it would be a good idea to teach Hiccup how to.
Jack brought his newer board while Hiccup borrowed one of his old ones.
Once they got there, their was a group of five girls just sitting on one of the half pikes just gossiping. When they saw Jack one of the girls yelled "Hey Jack, who's this?"
Jack replied "This is the new guy, he moved here a week ago. His names Hiccup"
Hiccup just stood there and waved. One of the other girls said loudly to Hiccup "Hey, you're kind of cute."
Hiccup just smiled and said "Well thank you"
She came down from the half pike and introduced herself him.
"Hi, I'm Astrid" She said putting her hand out to shake his.
"Hiccup" He said shaking her hand
"Huh, we both have odd names." She said letting go of his hand.
Jack broke up the conversation and said "Well, this was fun, seeing two potential lovers meet for the first time but we came here to skate so if you could let us do that, we would appreciate it, Astrid."
Astrid commented back "Jack..."
Astrid had gone back up to the half pike with the rest of the girls. Hiccup and Jack went to a different part of the park and Jack taught Hiccup the basics.
After that, they took a rest. Hiccup asked what that was about back there.
Jack said "Well, her and I used to date and sometimes things can get pretty heated because she's my ex."
"Oh" Hiccup said
"What about you, do you like her?" Jack asked with a smirk on his face.
"Umm... she's not particularly my type." Hiccup said.
"Well, what is your type?" Jack asked.
"Well... uhh... tall, short hair, packing at least six inches." Hiccup said as he looked away.
"Oh..." Jack said before realizing what Hiccup had said. When he realized what he said his expression changed "Oh... so... your... your gay?"
"Yeah" Hiccup said hoping that he wouldn't loose his only friend.
"Well that's cool, I've never had a gay friend." Jack's tone of voice changed.
"You mean, you're still going to be my friend even though guys turn me on." Hiccup said.
"Well yeah, just because you're gay doesn't mean I'm not going to be your friend. Gay does not always define a person. Just because you like to see guys naked, doesn't mean I'm not going to befriend you. So, does your family know?"
"Yeah. When my father picked me up on the first day, he asked me if I had a boyfriend yet." Hiccup said smirking.
Jack laughed and sat there. Hiccup could feel himself getting red.
Am I getting feelings for him? Hiccup asked himself.
"Getting a little red there." Jack said smirking "It's okay, I've been told I'm pretty attractive."
Hiccup just laughed and nodded.
Jack started to say "Well, to be honest, I have had homosexual tendencies before. When did you know you were gay?"
"Well," Hiccup said "... I don't know really, I guest I've always known I was gay."
"Well, your cute but I think that we should become more of friends before and if we date." Jack said.
Hiccup just blushed as he said there. Jack was smiling and put his arm around Hiccup.
