*XAVIER'S P.O.V.*

I woke up bright and early today; my eyes fluttering open from the sun rising over the east. I squinted, trying to adjust to the amount of light seeping through the shades. I looked over at the clock by my bed and it read 6:35 a.m.  What on earth made me wake up this early? Feeling fully rested, I decided to get up, get dressed, and take a walk to the park. Our summer is almost over… the thought depresses me. There’s only about 2 weeks left and the Mayday Parade concert is coming up soon. I’m kind of starting to feel weird about it, like something’s gonna happen. I also feel strange about having to go with a bunch of girls, unless Lillian is bringing some guy with us. I began to walk downstairs to get some breakfast first and heard silence. They’re still gone…they’ve been gone for weeks…

I grabbed a green apple to take with me instead of making something, my phone and headphones. I opened the door, breathing in the cool air, and stepped out. I plugged my headphones in and put them around my neck.

Hey, girl, you know you drive me crazy

one look puts the rhythm in my hand.

Still I'll never understand why you hang around

I see what's going down.

I listen carefully to the beginning lyrics that remind me of my girlfriend. I just downloaded a few songs from this band I discovered and I haven't heard this song before.

Cover up with makeup in the mirror

tell yourself, it's never gonna happen again

You cry alone and then he swears he loves you.

Do you feel like a man when you push her around?

Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?

I stopped in my tracks taking in a sharp gasp as I recall the day at the park when I pushed Violet onto the ground making her knees scrape.

Well, I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's gon' to end

as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.

A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect

every action in this world will bear a consequence

If you wade around forever, you will surely drown

I see what's going down.

The last time I hung out with her I remember her wearing a few more bracelets than usual on her wrist, and wearing jeans… in the summer? She has been acting strange lately.

I see the way you go and say you're right again,

say you're right again

Heed my lecture.

Do you feel like a man when you push her around?

Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?

Well, I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's gon' to end

as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found

I arrive at the park before the song ends. I head straight for the same swing I was at when I had pushed her.

Face down in the dirt,

she said, "This doesn't hurt",

she said, "I finally had enough."

One day she will tell you that she has had enough

He's coming round again.

Is this why she’s acting different? I love her… I really do. The last thing I want to do is hurt her but…

“Oh god..” I mumbled to myself. “What am I becoming?”

A/N The song is called Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, which is on the side. There is also an acoustic version which is really good too. (:
